7 of the current top 10 trainers have satellite yards, including the top 4 in the log, surely this is not indicative of having a satellite yard that is used for "lesser lights" from the stable??
Alec Laird's Natal yard last 12 runners have returned 2 wins and 4 places a 50% return on stakes to runners, and the Bass yard has had 5 places from their last 10 runners,Joe Ramsden has only had 8 runners since October of last year for 1 win and 2 places, given these stats I cant agree that the horses that these yards are running in Durban are "bad" horses and if so then what does that say about the quality of the Natal horses when the so called bad horses are capable of earning stake cheques consistently between 40 - 50% of the time ??

So that means 91perc of owners that enter with joey ramsden won't have a winner as per daverkr0 calculations?

Lets not loose sight of the fact that the Tarry and Drier yards are on 15% Justin Snaith and Gav Van Zyl on 13% and Mike Bass on 11% yet they are all in the top 10 on the Trainers log...

i think frodo has nailed it on the head.also like daverckr0 post.the bottom line is kzn is trying to protect the weaker stables in their province.i would think this is not good for racing in kzn,but from the response from all kzn boys i see they think its good to cater for mediocrity so thats there opinion and i suppose its there right to do this.betting pools, better horses, and all else has nothing to do with placing restrictions on wat horses top trainers can bring to race, but thats just my opinion.at the end of the day racing goes on and the better horses will win races all over the country and punters will continue funding the game they are so addicted to.thats just the way it is and every punter still dreams of catching the elusive big one.got to love this game.

I cant get my head around how insisting that visitors only bring their better horses to compete in KZN can be in the favor of local owners??

The NHRA should step in and make a ruling that horses that have a MR lower than 50 should only be allowed to race in Kim - Any horse above that level should be allowed to race in any centre with preference given to a local horse with the same MR.

100% Correct...like before when 4 yo maidens had to go to Bloem to win their race b4 being allowed to race elsewhere

?.......EXACTLY.......how can one judge what is allowed and those that are not ......let free market be and not put any restrictions on who can train where and when......FFS those 4 that are being targeted are stuffed when Clairwood gets ploughed so why have a go at them now......I hope that some Cape money man/woman sets up a seperate KZN facility and has the cream of those that are being targeted at the facility and take all the spoils in season and out......:
