Theway that it was done here was a waste of time as most people could not get the information and as I said it was too late for the exotics which is where most people wanted it for.

Yes the change in weight from it's last run is reflected. Some of our punters rely heavily on this information as they feel it is the best guide to the horse's well being.

Have any horses been injured during this process? (i'm sure more horses get hurt on the float than the scale)

How many people does this benefit if it is done just before they are saddled, and only displayed on course?
seems like the dangers outweigh the benefits.
The horse needs to go on a float in order to get to the races, in order to provide a medium for punters to bet on. We have the option to use our own transport. Would trainers have the option of refusing to have their horses weighed should they think it be too risky?
I still maintain that it is essential for training, it is a "frilly" and often inaccurate extra bit of info for punters.

And while horses often weight within a certain range when they win, they don't always win everytime they are within that weight range...

From a super strong racing area but South Africa does not provide the same as our game is growing so fast that we don't need any new punters -

Read on another site about the Singapore horse MR.RAFFLES won a feature race in Malaysia ridden by S.A. jockey Greg Cheyne. The horse weight was 20kg lighter.

Just think it's another unnecessary mission for an already full raceday program... Sorry I love my horses maybe a tad too much....
