Another comment lifted from

You are right – let us all agree and be happy for the Winners. We are as well. Never mind the horses, let us all be happy !. Life is too short for this. Let us celebrate the opportunity to at least be alive and happy.
It is such a nice feeling with the pressure gone and living life – let us be positive and learn from this and align our futures accordingly…..
Horse racing is not worth it – that is why it is a dieing sport.
Much better things in life worth much more, much cheaper and much more rewarding….
Life is too short for this non sense. This will be my last comment – I have much better and more important things to do that makes me a happier man and enjoy life more.
Good luck to all in the game – next time !.

Agree Bob, this is a sad situation when one thinks that real action is needed and yet another jockey highlights the state of the track without any formal statement from the operator forthcoming.
Will a decision be taken not to race on the turf track before the Gold Cup with a plan to try and fix some of the problems???

I see a Facebook page saying he is out of the game in the new season...not buying anything new and scaling down to zero....seems like that ride didn't last too long!

From his facebook, really sad for racing and a big loss
It is with sadness that I have to announce that myself and Misty Meadows will exit Horse Racing as owners in the coming season. The abuse of the media and false and inaccurate reporting has destroyed our love and desire for the sport. We will not buy or purchase one more horse and will reduce our presense down to 30 horses. Support and involvement to zero in the coming months. It is sad to say but in this game we are not prepared to pay in family time and resources to be abused and victimized like this. Sporting Post and all other evil eyes - Well done and mission achieved. Sad day for me but I must be the most stupid man alive to continue in a dishonest hi-jacked two man circus where I am described and labelled as the main clown. This clown is done and signing out for duty.

That is terrible news for SA racing.

Not surprising. When the guy is obviously passionate about his racing and get abuse for being so. His trainer didn't do him any favours with his comments going public either so I can understand after Saturday's dissapointment and the follow up adding fuel to the fire he has had enough.Bad for racing that it can drive its own enthusiastic benefactors away .

Who called him a clown?
Abashiri got jarred and ran unplaced not because he won the triple crown at the end of April but because of other variables. I support Mr Azzie for getting the horse ready for his boss to pursue his dream.
On a parallel, Dubai racing was born because of an arrogant trainer. One sheikh asked his English trainer (name escapes me) to get one of his horses ready for a meeting to which the sheikh wanted to invite his friends. The trainer declined because he had his own agenda for the horse, like he owned the horse. The sheikh said "stuff this".

How does that saying go " If you want to run with the big dog's...... ? This is what this game is all about. Pushing trough the hard times to get that next big winner. Couple of months ago all time high. He is very good for the game thoroughly enjoyed the breath of fresh air they brought. If I were him I'd just start spreading my risk/reward as some terrible purchasing decisions recently made

He will be back as he comes across as a passionate person and gets hurt by words. He will remove himself from the track, the media and the auctions for a few months. Come the new season in Joburg he will be back.
He should learn from his mistake and that is DO NOT get involved with the media
