thanks for you honest answer neigh. VV is obviously a very successful person so he does not like to taste defeat. Somebody should tell him that you cant be a winner everyday as we all know. He has put a huge amount of money into the game and imo he has done that far to quick. He thinks that buying 50 horses or whatever the number, will bring instant success. By the looks of it he overpaid on a number of his purchases and thats biting him in the bum now. If i was him i would sell a number of the horses and stick with the best 10 and work his way up from there. But i am not him and he has free will.

no way is a racing manager the answer, this situation is a scandal because of the media and a few big mouths. the people that suffer are

Mr Azzie
Mr VV

and the rest including the racing public.

I feel sorry for the innocent workers (grooms, stable workers etc), who literally work just to provide food on the table. Where do they go after they did nothing other than doing their job... the bread is taken off their table.

Our game cant afford to lose one player let alone someone like AvV. For him to be ridiculed and made out to be a clown by idiots pisses me off no end. His passion and love for his horses should be applauded not ridiculed. I am positive we dont know half of what he does for the sport outside of his own horses because thats the people he and his wife are. Yet the strange thing is these idiots are what we can do without because most of them have and will amount to f-all in life.

My mate from what I read on facebook he is finished with the media and publications where he and his trainer have been attacked and interrogated on his own horses ..the track condition was an issue but not the deciding factor.

I have to agree with Len Sham . I think it was stems from the Sporting Post article prior to The July written by the " has been" Robert Bloomberg , How can you have a head line "‘Abashiri Has No Chance’ – Expert" that's enough bad luck to be put on your horse before it even runs. Then runs and injures itself. That's enough to break any mans dream to winning his race of a life time. Somethings can be funny somethings are just plain stupid to say when Luck or Wishing someone luck is very important in this game. If Humpty Dumpty is him I hope Robert and his sick sense of Humour are proud.

I would not be surprised by the bloating after the race By Humpty Dumpty if That Humpty Dumpty is Robert Bloomberg - He is so arrogant with no Balls it sounds like his MO . Modus operandi

I must have missed the part where Van Vuuren graciously admits to ignoring sound advice about running the horse in the July. The horse runs a bad race and he throws his toys out of the cot. Also missed the part where somebody calls him a clown – only got the bit where he calls himself a clown.

Having read his face book post and various comments and rants in Sporting Post, he does not come across as the smartest cookie in the jar.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

What is this about –“I will extract and put a movement from non local owners together to boikot any Greyville races.”(sic)
And this – “I would talk to VODACOM to reconsider their sponsorship for such abusing surface “(sic).

Seriously?

Running forums and social media comes in for plenty criticism and attack and trust me it's not as easy as people think but there must be a sense of responsibility on what to allow and what to censor and it would appear in this case it's gone too far in losing a special owner that the game certainly can't afford to lose, sad story and loss.

Van Vuurens seem like wonderful people, but in this game you need a thick skin.
While there may have been a lack of tact with the article, bear in mind the balls it took to publicly dismiss it's chances.
Do we really want to clamp free speech and walk on eggshells ?
