Bob, the vet bill is one third of what vets in horse racing expect to earn every month....

It is embarrassing in some respects to be involved in game that has low levels of ethics and has very little self respect....
The CEO of the RA punches a punter and it fizzles to nothing, an owner vents regarding the condition of the track at Greyville and is vilified.... not saying that VV was right but we hear shit from people who have spent less on punting and buying horses in the last 20 years than he has in 1 year....somewhere the balance is out of whack.
I truly hope thar VV and Azman regroup and come back harder than ever.

Chin up VV.
Does not matter if he buys three of thirty horses. (Should people now bow down? )
The game is such and if you don't like how it unfolds for you, u can back out or try again. It's a choice.
If this game is dictated by one man's power (money) we as punters rather sit the fcuk down and not punt.

I don't believe that this industry should bow to any one person, not my point at all.
Strange though that you can believe that this is not already happening...
Enough from me, have a great punting weekend clanners.

I have known many prominent horse owners, and yes they all had money. But the ones who lasted had grace when they lost and tons of class. I hope there isn't a dispersal sale. The reason that the super rich play this game is that it can be a life long passion and ultimately it takes more than money. Just money doesn't do it and even a van vuuren will find its not necessarily your most expensive purchases that does it for you.

Mike/ Adriaan, don't give a sh. t about what people are saying. You guys are bigger and better than this business. Your passion for this game is what keeps you awake at night. Forget the distractions these neological nay-sayers are throwing your way. You guys spearheaded this way of life, literally leading the way for many of us. I believe in you guys, and I know that there is a large community of like-minded people who still do, regardless of all of this unfounded mud slinging that is currently going on.
Stay strong guys. And know that the true fans stand behind you.
My passion for this for this game will never die just like yours.

The best way forward for Mr. V.V. imho is to spread his horses around the country using different trainers as the Jooste operation works.
It works for Mr. Crabbia also as his colours are all over the country .
Also why not try the big names with overseas success like Team MDK ?
With regards to the Abashiri fiasco with the sacking, then re-instating of jock Zechner, a lot of negative publicity resulted in sympathy for the jock from many quarters with those associated with the horse on the receiving end of the flak.
Robert Bloomberg in his preview brassed the Triple Crown winner and in doing so saved thousands of punters plunging into Abba so there was no malice intended in giving sound advice to punters who follow their hearts and not their heads.Robert when writing as The Ringer has ridiculed and poked fun at many a runner and it's connections in the past and one should take his musings with a pinch of salt and not be offended by his comments.
Lastly, perhaps he could consult with men with experience and expertise for advice when splashing out on raced horses like Oomph etc. so as to avoid spending several bars and not having much Gr1 fun with the horse.
