Never heard Mr Terence Millard complain about bringing his horses for the stakes on offer on Gilbeys Day and in the results listed above those two year olds went on to much bigger things as evident by the names, so to those who refer to it as a pony/goat track , perhaps these were after all donkeys.

It's been the traditional Big day for the sprinters for decades now and I for one will not be questioning what others have achieved on this track with their horses or whether another track would be more suitable, there is no more merit in this.

U got the stats on how many top horses have come away from Scottsville with serious injuries?Especially youngsters.....And that was his point that they weren't going to take that chance as this horse will be a champion!

Didnt Capetownoir have his first run there last season?Dean obviously happy with the course. He could have run him 1st time out at Clairwood as he was trained there and plenty races down the straight for him there. You right Mikesack, remember plenty of those. As have said before Scarlet lady the best horse I have ever been associated with. Would have put her against any sprinter then or now. She won 3/4 of those sprint races and 2nd in the other beaten a head.

Dean also ran unbeaten Guineas winner Express Way at Durbanville, Craig. No one is so infalible that everything they try points to the right way.

Did either of them break down? I think the average pen reading in winter is lower at Clairwood than Scottsville. I am sure this is due to the higher clay content at Clairwood. As I said, Enos has done a great job there. Jack Dash/Pirates, how many times have you been to Scottsville in the last year or two?

so i read this whole sorry post and i fear for racing in this country be cause it is for the ego of the boys at the top not for the racing it seem. i dont see the interview but i presume dereck brugman say some thing bad about scotsville. if this is true, he is no the first man to say some thing bad about this track i hear many words to describe some like grave yard or mine field in the old day, today it seem it is popular to call it goats track. whatever it is your choice to race their or no to race their. if mr brugman feel he dont want to race jooste horse their i presume the boss is ok with this and no body can say nothing is their choice, no? the other day lucky say some thing on tv about the vaal sand how bad it is i think hecall it the training track. is his opinion, he is entitled to say what he feel. why no out cry for this comment? is be cause their is no politics.
what is surprise to me is the news release it look like 20 minute after the comment is made. this worry me more than the comment them self. so what do we have hear? we have the racing operator who call for the sanction of the racing manager who represent the owner of the most horse in the country. the same owner have plenty horse race in kzn with laird, tarry, drier, im sure their is more i dont now. so these guys are prepare to take the gamble on this because the manager call their track the goat track? why no phone call out side the public eye and then brugman apologise? this is again the politics that is more important than the show. the boys in durban give the west cape the finger again. let me say that some time it is better not to tickle the balls of the sleeping lion. markus jooste if he ever decide to pull out of kzn be cause of the politics only kzn is poorer for it. it seem the juveniles are running racing there if i see how the problem are handled. you bite off the nose to spite the face. im sorry leave your ego in moreitius and rather do what is best for your province
