Derek is spot on! Scottville is a disgrace for racing - I would not even allow my dog to piss on it! GC likes to issue statements without investigating the real facts - what about Sunday? Will the NHRA hold the GC Board accountable? What goes around comes around! Loosing my respect for GC by the day!

Good to see you post again Homer...(tu)

I disagree though...whilst not a "great track", I feel it serves a purpose. There are definitely horses that enjoy this track and therefore it has a place in my book...(tu)

the question we have to ask is the scotsville track at the end of may in pmb the right course to host 4 group one races?i can speak from personel experience it ruined my filly for life when she ran at the end of may and know of scores of other horses who ran on that sprint day through the yearsand were never the same afterwards...scotsville has its place but is not up to group one status ...

the way that horse won today it looks to be something special and mr brugman merely indicated that it will be giving the gr1 race at scottsville a miss.who can blame him because this horse looks like a proper gr1 horse and no need to put the horse in jeapordy for a mere 500k race that could affect the horse going forward to bigger and better things.to be fair tho he could hv reserved his comment abt the scottsville track and kept his feelings abt the track to himself.a proper storm in a tea cup if you ask me.

The fiasco on Sunday has detracted from the fact that the winner won a very very good race and even had all things been equal it would not have been a runaway win for the fav..I for one cant wait for the rematch...
Give everything but up!

I know the track is undulating....it gets extremely hot at times...and some horses over race....
but there are many here that will give us the inside track....(tu)

maritzburg in the middle of winter is extremely cold compared to the coast some 90km away and the cold and frost makes the going like concrete and if happens to have some rain we experience the conditions we had for last years sprint day...it is not the right time to host 4 group ones at scotsville ..the vaal and durbanville dont have group one races either and scotsville falls into their category...

Just heard the post race interview. Scottsville is not a goat track at all. Enos has done a great job on the track in the past couple of years and is now in much better condition than most of the courses in SA. Anyone any idea why the comment by Derek was retracted so quickly? Are all those who agreed with Derek's comments earlier in this post going to say sorry and do the same?
