My opinion is that both Clairwood & Scotsville should have been sold and a new track & all weather be developed(left hand bend with a long straight). Greyville does not have the space for another track & the golf course is not moving.

Scotsville is in the best condition it has ever been and still it does not measure up to Clairwood so what next??? Keep flogging the dead goat

Gold Circle's reaction is way out of line.
Issuing a wild press statement, instead of asking Brugman to substantiate his remarks, is unprofessional.
It'll be interesting to see if GC follows up on the public threat to report Brugman to the NHA.

My 5 cents. Its to take the heat off themselves and their incompetence.

Further to Gold Circle's recent press release, the Company wishes to advise that Mr Derek Brugman has called the CEO, Michel Nairac, to apologise for his remarks on Tellytrack today and to record that no malice was intended. Gold Circle has accepted his apology.

For the Manager of the racing interests of one of the biggest owners and main figures in South African racing it was an uneccesary remark.
Maybe Brugmann should be more aware of what his boss says about it, rather than GC.

To be honest Scottsville these days is a much different kettle of fish from the days when the Bull Brand jocks int used to be run and Lester Piggot at the time referred to it as a pony track.

It never proclaimed itself to be a premier KZN track at any time and a lot of interest in exotics like the P.A. etc. were born from the upsets at the graveyard track that was in PMB.

I would rate Scottsville way ahead of tracks like Durbanville, the Vaal inner/outer?, sand, Flamingo and nobody makes animal references to any of these tracks, do they???:S
