I too am with Joey. Too many poor trainers in Durban who should not even have licences let alone horses.

well if you follow and deduct from the Ian Jayes thread - jhb trainers cannot pay their rent and on this thread most durban trainers are poor - and the Cape is bankrupt....sounds promising yes? is there any hope

Well said Joe Ramsden. The same sentiments were raised in discussion with the late Mike Airey about 2 months ago.

Well said Joey...about time someone spoke out.Its like sheltered employment and catering for mediocrity.....the little durban clan need to protect their breeding and racing...PATHETIC attitude.
Well done to Dennis on coming to CT and being welcomed AND WINNING BIG RACES!
Gavin Smith came with one runner and won....so did Duncan Howells....what a lot of crap that trainers arent welcome in CT!
Think about the big picture of racing in SA and not about protecting the Durban guys and their old school philosophy.....
As for Dons comments about CT being bankrupt... when u have a big foot on your head for years its difficult to survive.....now its gone and great times ahead for CT racing.....

Don the Dbn trainers/owners are trying to not be poor. :D It just seems funny that suddenly many trainers want to move here or have a satallite yard in Dbn. When things were bad they stayed well away except for the Champions season. Do they now know something? Anyway I am not going to drag myself down into a slanging match with Mr Ramsden. He can believe whatever he wants from his Cape Town base. GC and the trainers up here seem to getting on better and better except for a few minor problems and it bodes well for our future in GC country. We had a good meeting with all the Kwazulu Natal trainers and GC about Greyville and Summerveld and what is being done and it seemed most were happy.

Good news for KZN jocks as well then, if out of province riders only allowed to come for winter season or feature racedays now...
Hard enough with too many Appies about.

Must say, Joey spot on with all his comments - KZN will not survive (one or two decent trainers but the rest.......)!

Sounds like the Cape and KZN boys (owners/trainers) have been itching to get at each others throats, were you all just waiting for the merger??...::o

Why dont the trainers all take out a few stables in PE with better horses and allow the punters to have a few consistent results?

Please Mr Ramsden or even Mr Eudey? Honestly, are your horses good enough to compete in PE? W on;t your added competition in PE lead to beter stakes and quality?

Shoot me down if you want to...
