#614432

South Africa’s highest rated horse, Legal Eagle, heads the 2016 Vodacom Durban July Log as issued by Gold Circle today. Triple Crown hero Abashiri occupies 2nd spot with French Navy in third.

18 runners will face the starter for the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday, 2 July 2016, and the log reflects the composition of the field as if the race were to be run at this point in time.

On that log Solid Speed just has to run in the first three in the Greyville 1900 and it can get in as they will also be some eliminations and withdrawals before that.

Would a plodder really be the same price in the July betting as the 115 rated French Navy now?

I am also scratching my head looking at the odds of the Snaith runners Black Arther and It's My Turn. I would imaging Black Arther must have come on leaps and bounds since the Cape Derby. I will rather be taking the 40/1 on It's My Turn.

Friday's race I doubt will show much as most will be far from tuned up.

Also had to eat my words. Was very impressive tonight. Looked in all sorts of trouble with 800m to go but pulled through well.

Black Arthur now 33/10 for the July, I'd rather have 4/1 on Legal Eagle thanks.
