Rarely met a man more proud to be British and represent his country actually guys. Fact is they are all British now however much you may hate it, fact is I don't give a sh1t
End of. Disappointing the subject was brought up again, bores the hell out of me.
Mav... facts... born Joburg to SA mother and Brit father and moved to the UK when he was 11. He could of course have chosen to play for either country

Taken as such Agra (tu) Just disappointing that when someone is getting worthy praise some have it in their blood to try and change the whole subject into political sh1te just to try and get a reaction. Very immature and as usual spoiling an otherwise decent chat. I have a lot of time for Matt Prior and the pride he has in representing his country, it is worth "defending" here as are the fighting qualities Mav so rightly commented on (tu)

I'm as patriotic as you can imagine, but still I feel it's more important to enjoy a good performance. I don't care if Prior is British or Saffer or for that matter Fijian or Turkish or Estonian. I like, big time, the way he stuck it out to the end.
I also liked the way Faf du Plessis did the same in Australia, in the Proteas' last tour there.
And I remember VVS Laxmann doing the bitter ender thing a couple of years ago, in 2010 against Australia. He had to get a runner as he'd hurt his back, India were almost goners on 124/8 when chasing a total of 216 (got this from the web - I don't actually remember the figures off the top of my head!). He managed 73 n.o. to win the game by just one wicket. But he didn't play again that series because of his back.
Then, also against Australia, there was Graeme Smith, batting for a draw with one hand broken and the other arm with a dicky elbow that later had to have surgery. That time the Proteas lost ... or did they? I wonder who was the winner, really?
Maybe I just admire guys with guts and determination, wherever they happen to hail from.

its only political shit when it suits you lot. Everyday us foreigners get it rammed down our throats by Sky and other media channels that the UK have far too many of us here, yet when somebody is good enough to represent you then you grab us ala Zola Budd and half your cricket and rugby side.
PS nobody detracted from the fact that Priors knock was supurb. You should read my posts, not that I want you too, properly instead of seeing the red mist. Mav suggested he get a knighthood, pathetic really, and I inquired that as a foreign born citizen of the UK could he get one. The problem with you is that you are far too serious. You should get out more often instead of sitting in front of your computer and reading every single post on ABC.
