Australia were just outplayed in all forms of the game in all 4 tests. They will learn from that and will come hard at England. England may well hang on for a draw but their shares have gone down because as you rightly say the pitch is still very good. Bell and Prior are the two that can save the match

What odds could you have got on Peter Siddle being top scorer in both of Australia's innings. :

Somebody should give Prior a knighthood. Wonderful bitter-ender he is, sticking it out at the party till everyone else had gone home and his hosts were wishing he'd pack up and follow them, LOL! But he hung in there, amazing guy.

Extremely amiable man too Mav, he often comes out for a drink with the fans when allowed. Not a hint of arrogance about him either (tu)

Then it must've been double pleasure to you all to see his match-saving effort. It was a grand gritty performance if ever I saw one. Best of British! Real Dunkirk stuff!
You should offer him life membership of the Barmy Army, or something, for his contribution to cricket, and award it at a solemn dinner with speeches. And if such an award doesn't exist in the Army, it should be invented, imho.

Got this off sport24 this morning:
Cape Town - The presentation of the ICC Test Championship mace and a cheque of $450 000 (R4.2m) will be made to South Africa captain Graeme Smith at the Wanderers on Thursday.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Long Room Extension and the presentation will be made by Vince van der Bijl, former Natal, Transvaal and Middlesex fast bowler and currently ICC’s Umpires and Referees Manager as well as Cricket South Africa (CSA) president and ICC Director, Chris Nenzani.
Smith will accept the mace and the cheque on behalf of CSA for leading his side to the top of the ICC Test Championship table on the April 1 cut-off date.
The Proteas currently enjoy a 14-point advantage atop the standings following England Test series draw against New Zealand.
The Proteas' next Test assignment is against Pakistan in Sharjah starting in October.

I am not sure what the story is when handing out knighthoods to foreigners is. Prior is just another South African playing for England.

Didn't know that! So he's not a Pom because his parent(s) happened to be Brit, rather that he's chosen, as an adult, of his own free will, to become British? I suppose it makes him less so than those who never had any choice in the matter.

True what you say about him and mind you it is typical of most South Africans
