Sharks Bay and Cormack
15 years 4 months ago
Firstly, I had no money on it; so not speaking from my pocket.
However, if all the horses bar none go over to the inside [I am assuming that the better going was down the inside], how in the world can Cormack stay down the centre and expect to run a decent race.
I am not saying it should have won, but surely if the better going is down the inside, should Cormack not try and give his mount the best possible chance by also angling to the inside.
He was the furthest from the inside rail of all the jockeys...unless of course...anyway, the bookmakers must be smiling...

Getting stuck in traffic would have been worse and he wasn't that far away from the others. Anyway this is KZN. Why anybody bets on this rubbish is beyond me.

Don't agree; by keeping the horse in the centre of the racetrack he was obstensively curtailing the horses chances of making the top three.
By moving to the inside, he was at least giving it a fair chance of running on and at least placing.

i have basically given up punting on gold circus natal but this is a fucking disgrace of the highest order..clearly silver and charming lady have had rests of 218 and 144 days and both are trained by drier and both at summerfeld where supposedly tracks have been stuffed..sharks bay ran 6 weeks ago so really those excuses for his run which was 35 points below his rating was pathetic...yet again the punter gets a fuck up the aas

He was drawn the widest. To get to where you wanted him to be he would have had to drop out to last and then find a way between horses. Is that really an improvement?

Pirates, I agree. Sharks Bay is temperamental and may be harder to train than the others but who knows? At the very least you have to take KZN racing with a pinch of salt or it will drive you mad. It just isn't worth it so I just shrug and move on.

Pirates, this business still hasn't woken up to the fact that this is the 21st century. Racing's biggest problem is that it continues to treat its customers like irritating mosquitos. From the shabby Totes to the commingling mess to the inability to comprehend the need for transparency, it continues to operate on a take-it-or-leave-it basis. I've just about had a gatvol of it all but what can I do? Like I said earlier, I just shrug and move on.

my new years resolution was just that to stay away from the injustices in the industry and move on but this type of incident gets my blood boiling and it can be easily averted..

We need to change a lot of mindsets. The problem is, how? If we even dare to mention the word transparency some dinosaur will jump out of the Jurassic Park bushes and start screaming about owners' privileged information! I wish to make absolutely clear at this point that none of what I have written is intended to refer to connections of Sharks Bay! I speak in general terms.
