KZN plate race results are often a nightmare. How many red and yellow cards can they print?

Less and less as the rule takes effect is my guess!

Fair enough, Rob, but what to do when bad weather makes proper training impossible? There will always be imponderables in this game but there is a line between a puzzle and a downright lottery. I still favour the barrier trial option but concede that it would not have helped with Sharks Bay as he wasn't coming off a layoff. Tough one, but can we afford to just do nothing? I think not.

Magic, there is no doubt that my method needs refinement and a lot more thought, but the present situation is a joke..there is a rule,it is trangressed daily and no horse has EVER been suspended for "in and out running"(confirmed by Vee Moodly).
They may as well scrap the NHA and all its rules!

I agree, Rob. Things have to change for racing to thrive going forward. I am seriously concerned that the overall lack of any obvious concern for the welfare of its customers will bury racing. It is living in the past, which ultimately never works. This is the Information Age, supposedly.

I've said it here before, the 'rest' label in the racecard is worthless. Once a horse has been off the racetrack for 60 days or more he/she automatically gets branded as 'rested'. I don't have percentages but it's a common occurrence that there isn't a suitable race available for a horse (often for months at a time) but the horse still stays in full work. The term 'rested' therefore is misleading in the extreme.
