Felini, Sharks bay was entitled to start that price on form, plus there was "fitness" question marks hanging over some of his rivals.

Interesting reading this post-

In my opinion, Sharks Bay deserved odds on status and in that field I think the Bookmakers got it right by opening him up at 4/10. He has run in far stronger races than this and a second to Our Giant is worth many merits. Clearly Silver was the unknown quantity in the race and on paper, was the only horse that stood a chance of toppling the top rating which he duely did. The question and answer is simple, did Sharks Bay run to its potential- the answer is no. The more I learn about this great game and the people involved, the more I realise it is clouded with many grey shadows. Where do Trainers, Jockeys, Owners draw the line, and that is a question that the RA, P and GC need to look at. Maybe make it compulsory for all trainers to give a statement about their horses straight after final fields are announced- Post it on Tabonline, Tabgold, Sa Horseracing, Ra website. Make it a new Rule that must be enforced and monitored- That is the only way to get info out, as if it just done by a journalist, they can be selective as to what they say.

This is just my point of view and in no way am I trying to be detremental to anyone concerned. My interests are purely of Racing becoming the sport it once was and as I have stated on other threads, changes and new ways of thinking have got to be introduced. COMMUNICATION is a key form of MARKETING and these need to be at the forefront of any discussions in management offices. I always hear, Owners stakes are down because of this and that, but they must remember that before the owners comes the punter- (in my wheel and cycle of thoughts) Because without the Punter, there will be NO stakes in this game. That is why if a 4/10 favourite is needing a run the public needs to know about it.

Well guys all i can say is that all in KZN racing isn't what it seems but i will say no more...exactly the reason why i rather race in PE, Gauteng & rather Flamingo...

I feel all owners should join the site and be transparent. My trainer knows i give info on my horses as i'm a small punter and love sharing info. I'm not greedy and maybe just why i'm lucky to get winners...stake cheques work for me...lol

Jason not sure on publishing all that info but a starting point would be to give sealed riding instructions to stipes before each race (see the interview with Paul Matchett after Precedent won) - opened straight after the race and if there is a discrepency then hold an inquiry - also if a horse has been rested then at the very least a public statement as to the reson for the rest?

Geez - what a miserable bunch you all are - why bother!!! It's out of season in KZN, so naturally you're going to get spook results. Try getting horses fit and ready when every morning the tracks are soaking wet. Try playing Cape racing in the winter.... Almost impossible!!!

Racing is a sport and a hobby for punters, unless you're a bookmaker or one of those idiots who calls yourself a professional punter. If this is how the game makes you feel, go and play bowls or something... The industry doesn't need you... All of you...

Hukky..
It's not an industry..
It's gangsters...

Gangsters have naive people working for them too..
if you watch the mafia movies..you will see that the naive guys are totaly oblivious of the reality...

We have Phumelela not wanting to print the DATABASE LOG tapes..
We have the Gambling board that does not want to lockup the Racketeers (bookmakers)..for breaking the law and stealing the VAT..
We have the RA that out vote you when you ask too many questions..
We have trainers that have never been on a horse back..
We have Jockeys that ride for syndicates..
We have trainers that scheme with bookmakers..
We have owners with 3 year old maindens that dont have races..
We have single ply in the Turfontein Private boxes..
We have naive people in the racing racketeering business..

What are you talking about..
If all the guys go away...the RACKETEERING will stop..

ps.. HILL, SHEA and CORMACK...the 3 together rings a bell...and its not "silent night"...
