Elusive Profit and Double Distilled both disappointing.
Two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Dead Poets Society in race 3. very open race, and now goes over the right trip. Could surprise at long odds, but must overcome draw.
Disruptive in race 8. won well last time, but reverts to grass and has to contend with a wide draw. Hard to assess in this class after big MR jump, but could surprise at long odds.
Three runners at Grenville on Friday
Golden Angel in race 4. Tries further, and gets a nice draw, Blinkers off so hopefully settles and runs at them. Has the ability to win this. Stable companion Sesame is the one to beat. Fine Wine must be respected.
De vlugge and Dawn surprise in race 8. Dawn S gets the inside draw and is distance suited. Can win this despite her inflated rating. De Vlugge drops in trip but is in good form and can compete despite the draw, Whatastar must be respected,

Dead Poets scratched and Disruptive race abandoned.
Golden Angel had every chance, although slightly squeezed for room on the rail at 300m. Stayed the trip but I think she is better on the turf. Tame 5th.

Super win by De Vlugge despite the draw and the drop in trip. Developing into a smart filly.
Dawn Surprise good run in 3rd, although she had the run of the race and a plum draw- a couple of points too high in the ratings.

One runner at Kenilworth on Saturday, weather permitting.
Warrior of Destiny in race 1. Has been a bit unlucky, and has unfortunately not been a quick beginner. Looks a competitive race, but on his run behind Red Spice, and with the 2.5kg claim, if he jumps on terms he can fight out the finish. 28/1 is too generous.

Warrior again a bit slow out and did not run on as strongly as expected. Somewhat disappointing.
Warning Sound an improved run close up 4th.
One runner at Fairview on Friday.
Lyrics and Songs in race 3. Has been very disappointing, and needs to bring her work to the track. Low weight gives her an outside squeak.

One runner at Greyville on Friday.
Floral Kingdom in race 1. Has come on from fair debut and should enjoy the extra 200m. Fair draw 5 and gets 2.5kg allowance.
Expecting good improvement, and unless the unraced runners are strong, she should be in the money.
Sei Bella has had 3 runs and improved each time and from 1 draw with Fortune up is the best of the raced runners.
6 first timers make it tricky, and Palace of Averna has been priced up strong favourite, so despite the wide gate must be respected.

Pleasing effort by Floral Kingdom- just missed 2nd and a good 3rd. Was running on nicely. Should not be long in winning her maiden.

Two runners at Scottsville on Sunday.
Kaalvoet in race 8. Very competitive race, but he must have an ew shout if he continues to improve a bit.
Caribbean Gold in race 9. Steps up in trip which she should handle based on what her siblings have done. Open race, but hopefully she can step up.

Good win by Kaalvoet- well ridden and still has scope for improvement. Got a 4 point raise to MR 106.

Very poor by Caribbean Gold- was bumped early and reported breathing noise- something amiss.

Almond Sea was weighted to win the Camellia Stakes, but a poor run. Got away on terms and looked to be running on well at 300m, but faded out. Stipes report says saddle slipped back, so maybe that was the reason. Very disappointing.

Preparations are well underway for our dispersal sale at the farm on Thursday 7th May.
19 mares (3 with foal at foot); 9 weanlings and 6 yearlings.
Catalogue is out, but a number of late additions from other vendors have been added to the online catalogue.
Our pictures are up, and include videos of the yearlings.
We have been producing 70% winners to runners consistently since the mares were relocated to the farm in 2011, and 9% stakes winners to runners.
Seldom does an opportunity arise to acquire this sort of breeding stock.
The foals at foot/ weanlings are the full complement of our 2025 foals, and are similar in quality to our yearlings that averaged R400k at the March Cape Premier sale.
The yearlings are those 2024 foals that were not ready for the early Feb/March 2026 sales, and would otherwise have gone on the October 2026  2yo sale.
The weanlings and yearlings offer pinhook opportunities to astute buyers.
The yearlings qualify for the RaceCoast incentive program.
Public viewing is limited to the morning of the sale, which starts at 12h00 and should finish by 14h30.
However, we would be very happy to accommodate anyone who would like to visit the farm earlier to view the stock.
Black Swan Stud is situated 10km before Robertson when travelling from Cape Town, and is approx 150km from CT.

One runner at Fairview on Friday. Luca Da Wheels in race 3.
He is a very well bred gelding, but needed time to mature. In my opinion, he was pushed too early to race in CT.
The new owner has given him time on the farm, and it will be very interesting to see how he does here trying poly for the first time
Given the long rest, it is likely that he will need this run somewhat, but it is not a strong field and he carries a low weight.

Luca seemed to need the run, but more promising than previous efforts, and handled the poly, faded last 200m.

One runner at Kenilworth on Sunday.
Double Dash in race 4. Goes for the hat trick but was assisted by the 4kg claim last time. A very open race , but good ew value at 16/1.
It will be interesting to see how Fort Liam does in race 3 as he ran a good race in second giving her 4kg plus the 4kg allowance, and a couple of kilos WFA.
He also looks good value at 14/1 as an improving 3yo.

A very well run and well attended sale yesterday. Our thanks to all who supported the sale, and best wishes to those who bought our mares, weanlings and yearlings.

Double Dash went handy and faded badly.

One runner at Greyville on Wednesday.
Dawn Surprise in race 6. Not a great draw, but she is game and consistent, and the 4kg allowance helps with her rating. Open race, and has an ew chance.

Another honest run by Dawn Surprise from a tough draw did well to run second.

One runner at Fairview on Friday. Luca da Wheels in race 3. Moderate first effort on poly and needs to improve a few lengths to feature. Gets a top jockey which gives a little bit of hope.
