I was also waiting to see what happens with Tellina - would be well weighted should he get a run - has been taken out this weekend - so not sure what the state of play is with him

Possibly - one of 7 or 8 horses looking for 5 spots - another that could scrape in at the last moment is Cagiva - running in the Jubilee with Striker riding - sure he would have to win by 5 lengths plus - but stranger things have happened

I wonder if Heavy Metal would get in if he won the Jubilee beating Legal Eagle convincingly?

For me very much in the same boat as Cagiva - neither feature on the log - so has to win by a good couple of lengths to scrape in

He has run well in all his highveld races and if he improves more, he could be in the places at decent odds. You can't have French Navy be 10's and DJ be 33's.

Might take some places to cover my Futura bets.

I've gone for him a few times but he always seems to wander or get into trouble in the last 400m

.....have had my eye on this guy too.....but will he get a run.....and if so needs to be drawn well and needs a jock with "soft" hands.....this guy imo does not like to be pressed and bustled which is what happened in his Daily News run.....when you throw everything but the kitchen sink.....he gets all out of sinc..... :P

There is a lot of merit in looking at ratings, WFA, under difference etc, however IMO, handicapping is heavily reliant on all things being equal. In racing and in life things seldom are. There are too many variables that can create a result that defies the handicap. Correct line horse, scope for improvement based on age, going on the day, luck on running, horse temperament on the day, decision making of jockey in the race etc etc etc.
Pick your fancy using whatever rationale feels good. Form, age, jockey, trainer, a dream you had, the horses name, number, colour etc etc. After all its a gamble.

I took some @150/1, no value at 7/1 until he's confirmed to run. Once/if confirmed and hopefully with a prep run under his belt, load up B)

150/1 Legal Eagle.......awesome stuff !!!!
