Basically the horse has never won further than 1600m and does not stay -
I thought he was exported
Thanks.
He twice finished within 1.5 lengths behind legislate over 2000m at Kenillworth. A year older I would have liked to see him in the July. Personally don't think the extra 200 would have been an issue as Greyville is much more forgiving..

Remember Variety Club also ran 2nd in the Cape Derby and he was never tried over more than a mile as he was a true sprint miler- The Cape Derby is early in the season so sometimes 3yr olds that don't really see out a proper 2000m can do well there but the staying types soon catch up. Capetown Noir won the Derby but he too never managed to win past 1600m after that. I personally think the form book shows he is a miler and would be beaten 9/10 by horses that stay 2000m plus with equal rating.

Carrying on from Legislates winning interview, I was told a few days ago that today's race was a trial at how Legislate was loaded into the gates, and if everything went ok then they would let him run in the July

What if he decides not to load July Day. JS is playing with the punters. Legislate was never the winner last year. Hope he runs and gets the hiding of his life.

Many more to come - nothing in the Cup Trial (bar Punta Arenas) that was not on the top 16 has done anything to enhance their positions while some (e.g. Gold Onyx) may even drop out.
From the Challenge, I thought Halve the Deficit ran well enough to now ensure a definite run in the July - don't think he actually gets the trip though

Legal Eagle seems to be flying "under the radar" so to speak. Does anyone know if he will be having a prep run anytime soon or even if he is likely to run in the July.
IMO, is thus far the most standout horse for the July .

Apparently going to have a prep run in the highveld then come down for the July but very few people really know for sure. And yes I think he'll win if he runs, if not then his stable mate.

Looking through past July results, it appears that horses that won or were close up in JHB Derby ()that was won this year by Legal Eagle) ,seems to feature quite prominently in the July, any thoughts?

I took some @150/1, no value at 7/1 until he's confirmed to run. Once/if confirmed and hopefully with a prep run under his belt, load up
