The early meetings showed that local racing had been handed a superb product. The concern had to be the reports that the maintenance of these tracks is vital.
With racing's management record, is this development so surprising?
Probably not,but so soon??
(BTW Muhti did predict this very situation earlier in this thread!)

Maybe those at Gold Circus should be advised to consult with the Emirates and install on those lines as the desert can get very hot in Summer & Durban has very high humidity in Summer.

So how did they do it?:S

Tommy its no good unless its worked, during a cold snap in the uk the track has to be worked 24/7 for racing to go a head, can you see that happening?

The all weather meetings are on all year round Tam,just take a back seat in the summer when we can race on grass.

Meydan is Tapeta & Jebel Ali is referred to as " on the dirt ". Sure Chippy & Mike de Kock are familiar with the tracks.

Meydan Tapeta also wax based and also problematic. Needs gallons of water and uk and usa trainers say it is extremely sticky. No answer for SA.

Whaaaat ...::o...the track is giving problems already.....shame...... they will have to pour more money into it.....because they never poured enough thought into it.....:S

Yip Muhti....They did...and they didn't....sometimes we rely too much on "experts"...which...in the real world...we should...but all the charlatans out there.....::o...I listen to the sceptics...{even Thor...and Observer1...(missed the original...:D)}
What really tees me off...we slowly refine and tweak over many years....practically....and then some dickweed...comes with a radical theory....like fark...everybody before him was stupid...:S

From Chippy

Tapeta at Meydan is waterered up to an hour before races start AT NIGHT... And open to correction but also between races sometimes

I understand Jebel Ali is pure desert sand mixed with black oil, can't handle water as it lays on top causing false ground and patches due to course undulations. A few meetings have been cancelled there due to rain.

I was told that Kuwait + Bahrain lost 2 weeks of racing due to the recent rains aswell

Pirho, t'is the time for cheer. Smiling as I type this.

Bought the full cream milk, chocolate cookies, and the biggest red stocking I could find.

Still waiting for Santa to arrive.

Unfortunately, the Christmas cheer has not been running in my favour...missed all of the past three big payouts, all of them one leg out, and running second.

Yesterday's meeting....a very big win double on Marcus in the 4th with Marcus in the 7th.

What happens, favorite in the 4th gets scratched, before the off, now resulting in a deduction for any bets on Marcus.

And to add insult to injury, Circle of Life (Marcus for Tarry), gets scratched after rearing. I have seen so many horses rear in their stalls, and still run the race.

What amazes me is the "efficiency", in making the decision to withdraw "Circle of Life"

Apologies for mixing racing centers.

And now you tell me I'm a sceptic.

Pirho, no sarcasm intended to you...I really enjoy your posts. Great sense of humor, honestly.
