Yes well done to the bookmakers that have just Given away hundreds of thousands of rands. Remember they have already paid out on the winner with no deductions. They have taken a big knock for all there punters.

russelld and others.....u r right..why must a bookmaker give his money away...and u r also right in suggesting...that the bookies had no bearing on what transpired in the race....but i think its also right to know and support the bookies that took the unprecedented step of refunding money at a time when many a punter was brooding....if possible these bookies should be supported over others that didnt...afterall it was a marketing tool that they used and i feel they should be rewarded...so targetting the bookmaker that did not pay is not a vendetta but rather an opportunity of letting them know...that hey there are plenty of outlets out there that we can go to ,if we are not treated well

Fact is, HWD have already recouped 25% of my refund courtesy of Hayley's poor ride on Actonetaketwo in Lingfield. Prior to this, I was with the antagonists who were mooting abstention for a week.

If a bookmaker laid
Horse A 100/50
Horse B 50/50
Horse C 0
horse A wins he is -50
horse B wins he is 0
Horse C wins he is +100
If horse A wins after the payout and the refund this bookmaker is now down 100. I just wanted to Show you basically how much you bookmaker has done for you today, and maybe why some bookmakers didn't give away FREE money today.
Horse A 100/50
Horse B 50/50
Horse C 0
horse A wins he is -50
horse B wins he is 0
Horse C wins he is +100

Look we are not illeterate and we all understand how mathamatics and statistics work in regards to "laying bets", I've designed some systems and formula's that have been used by sport betting operators in the past but that's not the point here. Bookies lay many bets for many centres on many horses and other sports. We are referring to ONE incident... there are many incidents where bookmakers benefit time and time again and I need not go into the mathamatics. In so far as FREE money, what free money? in simple mathamatical terms if the bookmaker actually took the loss on ONE incident he would surely have secured and sustained a much bigger investment.

If I was a bookmaker in my office and had just done 50 and had you banging on my door demanding another 50 I don't think ill be jumping up and down to pay you.

Just back from and was reading.......Russeldavies! We all are aware that the bookmakers do not have to pay us out. So what are you on about. It is their goodwill gesture. We are determining from this forum what our business means to them. Everyone( seems like except you) knows that what happened today was wrong. Even the bookies know that, that is why some are offering this goodwill gesture. If it was not for this forum nothing would have happened. Nobody was forcing the bookies to do anything. As you could read Winning Post just wanted to compile a list of who was coming to the party! We have every right to do so. Are you a punter by any chance Russeldavies?
