SA, one of the greatest series seen in a while. Exciting first 2 test matches and then also a great last test match for SA!
SA are now seen as the team who RETIRES captains

Bangladesh recorded their biggest win in ODIs in terms of runs, thrashing a listless West Indies by 160 runs to take a 2-0 lead and are in prime position to claim the five-match series.

' We haven't ruined his last Test match yet, hopefully we do'.
AB de Villiers on South Africa's target of winning Ricky Ponting's last Test
Cruel game

What a match and what a series! Never a dull moment. Whenever Aus and SA come up against each other, wheels spin and sparks fly.
I tell you straight, watch as much of these 2 teams as you can manage, because in 20-30 years time their head-to-head test matches are going to be referred to nostalgically as the greatest of the 21st century, vintage games, classics, etc., and the players will draw fierce argument as to who was the best. Amla? Kallis? AB? And what about the captains ...?
These few years are going to go into history and be written up in books, and you'll be able to say, "I saw it all when it happened".

Mav just wish these two teams could play a 5 test series, leave the ODI's against NZ.

I entirely agree with Shrek. Unless you get back to having 5 test series with the major sides who Mav speaks of - whether you agree with the two teams he picks or not and on current form I think he's talking utter nonsense (
- then SA may continue as number one for as long as they like but it will be eons before a series they compete in will replace the Ashes as a cricketing event.
And guys... you are going way overboard on this success imho. Australia are a poor team currently and you scraped to a 1-0 win. A win is a win and on foreign soil especially that is always to be applauded but the truth is, at best, the Australians are rebuilding. I have little doubt Mav is right and in years to come they will be a force again but I will be very disappointed if England don't win both Ashes series in the next 18 months... and convincingly so. What this series has highlighted is that though SA are rightly number one, they have to continue to work hard and prepare correctly to stay there... they almost threw it away against poor opponents. Australia no 1 in the world now, that would have been a joke!!
First call, I would definitely be looking for a permanent replacement for Boucher to allow AB to concentrate on what he is good at. He's competent as a WK but not brilliant and his batting (last innings excepted) has definitely suffered imo. Kallis unfortunately won't be around forever and that middle order needs cementing. A word for FAF too, excellent debut (tu)
