Although I don't think they were ever going at 6 an over Winzip, England certainly laid open how vulnerable the Aussies are currently, and is why I have been so pro-SA this series despite some seemingly awkward times. If you look at the England totals in the last Ashes it really does paint a pretty clear picture. You are just much the better team. I am seriously surprised you have not won 3 zip.

Good on yer, Shrek! Spot on.
Who got up early to watch? Or like me, didn't have the nerve ... scared what I might see when I switched on the telly.
There's something strangely symmetrical about SA and Aus when they play Test matches against each other. I'm thinking of the results and also the most dramatic moments. There were several in the double series of 2008-2009.
Here we have had each team with a period of fast bold scoring ... Aus on Day 1, Test 1; SA on Day 2, Test 3. Both have wagging tails that have had to make up for the shortfalls of the top and middle orders (though our tail is better than their tail!). Their bowlers had one rip of a spell and so did ours (so far). A low score in the first innings of the WACA Test by SA was matched by an even lower one by Aus in their first innings.
OK, our skipper hasn't scored a double hundred, but Amla may. Tough to end the day on 99, but of all of them he will cope the best with the nerves. Holding thumbs for tomorrow!

very nice to see AB getting back to form with a great century.a pity amla missed out on his double ton but it was a great knock from him.we are 529 ahead at tea on day 3,so i wonder wat the sa camp hv in mind for the aussies.do they declare today or bat till one hour befor lunch on day 4?i cant see us losing no matter wat they decide to do.

This has to rate as the "rubbish tweet of the year"
Graeme Swann
Just watching this fella called Amla batting on the TV. Looks too loose to me, wouldn't get a run in England... :S

Over 600 lead Great knock Abe & Amla. Poor Elgar 2 ducks. Can't believe that Rudolph did not play. There is still 60 min left. The Aussies are frustrated and I think Smith must declare and bowl at them for 30 min.

Can this be what is commonly referred to as "an English sense of humour"? Maybe Englander or Hibs can comment?
If Swann seriously thinks Amla is too loose, then he must be wearing his trousers backwards this morning.

He has been advised to start faking an injury before Amla arrives and turns Swanns into Geese...in the words of his namesake Graham Nash "humble pie is always hard to swallow with your pride"
