I find this mans claim to fame laughable, besides the fact that craig gives abc his views on his horses for free and willingly this guy claims he knew 1st

And his"bet of the year" many are deep in the red is a joke

Anybody subscribe to him can inform me of his strike rate?

Don't be to harsh on him. He's admitted that he uses Winning form 'system' or something in that line, I might be wrong, but @ R700 per month......eish brother, I'll rather study myself and make use of the ABC clan and Magic for freeeeeeeee

He is a rip-off, tip punters 7 to 10 shots and then crow about his strike rate afterwards. Anyone who pay for his "tipping" need some help. I know we all try to make a living but thats paying for the obvious and then half of them still lose. Cannot imagine people wasting their money on bullshit.

I have always believed that unless you have inside information or a stroke of good luck( like the horses name or a horse that you have been following) it is very difficult to catch big paying PA's or P6's.
By studying form you cannot pick a horse that in the last 5 races has finished no closer than 10 lengths from the winner , no matter what class of race . We can all tip 'GOOD THINGS" but to me the mark of a good tipster is someone that can tip a straight line PA , and not once in a blue moon .There are many members of this forum that give good "inside" information whether it be a trainer , owner or agent. You need to take note of that info and bet accordingly . No matter what the tipster predicts all horses should be trying. Most punters that are using tipping lines believe that the tipster has the info that he can never get because he is supposed to be closer to the game .

Subscribed about 4 year ago for a month. The biggest waste of money ever. He catches his R288 PA one day and goes on about his return, a few days later he catches the PA for his R8 and goes on about it but if you played his R288 PA you would have made a loss. He had so many permutations and best bets he will always catch one somewhere and he uses this to go on about how great his tips are meanwhile he loses thousands on other bets.

Where I lost all respect for him was in the July a few years ago. In his newsletter he mentioned that Robert Bloomberg fancied Dunford in the July and that 50/1 was a nice price. After Dunford won the July he said tipped Dunford to win the July at 50/1 meanwhile he also mentioned half a dozen other horses at a nice price. Saying a horse is a nice price is not tipping it.

Any tipster worth anything would publish all their past selections so people can see how well he does on certain bets on a month by month basis but all you get given to look at is "previous win record".

You get better tips on ABC don't waste your money on this guy.

I am not sure of the facts on the tipping thing, the punt of the year story and Zatopek, etc. But I do notice that Matthew is being personally attacked/slated. So, as per my usual way, I have an opinion on The Whispere/Matthew Stevens and his services.

Firstly, I agree that this forum has many ardent form students. However, I am a good friend of Matthew and I do see a need for him and his services in Racing. I do believe that he does help many and has done so for years. We surely cannot believe that ONLY the forumites make up the turnovers and ONLY we are correct etc. Then we would all be retired....

To me I compare Matthew's service to that of something that happens in my other passion, which is deep sea fishing. All deep sea fishermen should know the basics of tying knots and making up various traces. Yet, there are many who buy ready made traces and they pay for that service.

The first simple reason for that fact is that their business activities together with their family commitments deny them the necessary spare time, which is required in order to make up the many versions and types of traces

The second simple reason is that they cant be bothered with research, eg finding out about new knots, lures, traces and trends.

This is why they pay someone else to do the work for them. This enables them to go fishing, without weeks of prep and to enjoy the actual fishing, to relax.

So, there are those punters and racing people who want to do just that - pay someone else to do the homework for them.[

And we are different. We do our own studying......then there's a place for all of us, surely?
