Flamingo Park - Monday
15 years 5 months ago
Back to the old sand pot, but I think a few fancied runners could have a chance today.
I fancy Hollywood Guest in the 6th for a bet today.
The main race on the card is the Flamingo Park Sprint which should be fought out by Martini's Way and Opening Night (Good chance at the weights)
Happy punting

Morning Tommy, here is what Jack Milner says from RXP
Good Punting!
IT was in July 2008 that Martini’s Way joined Cliffie Miller’s Kimberley yard and the six-year-old has been a superb performer in the stable. He has won eight of his 16 starts and placed on four other occasions.
Six of his wins have come over 1200m and that makes him the runner to beat in this afternoon’s Flamingo Park Sprint. He has won five of his last six starts over the distance at Flamingo Park - most of them with consummate ease.
Donovan Habib will be back in the irons. He has partnered Martini’s Way to all of his wins in Kimberley.
Peter Miller could have the surprise package in Roman Forum - if the seven-year-old can come back well from a 272-day break. Formerly with Sean Tarry, the son of Caesour has a 1.50-length win over Narc, a neck second to Fair Brutus and a close second to Phunyuka in his record, and a glimpse of that form would make him a near certainty in this field.
This will be his first run at Flamingo Park but if Miller can weave his magic, Gerrit Schlechter could have a winning ride.
Opening Night also has impressive form in his only start at this track - he beat Sandy Beach by 1.25 lengths in the Kimberley Classic over 1400m in June. Clinton Binda’s runner is 1kg under sufferance but is in top form currently and comes off a 1.75-length third behind stablemate Officer Class at the Vaal last Thursday.
He has the advantage of a light weight and will jump from draw No 1. Marco van Rensburg gets the ride.

The raiding trainer spends a lot of money to get the horse down to Kimberley, transport R1300 up-front plus +R100 groom vitamins R???? etc.... up at 2 in the morning... then they send our support teams on sticky taped together busses, which will break down over a 6 hour trip, by the way this one was 1/2 hour late today to start with... Can say I am a little bit peeved.
