Rather embarrassing this ,some people never learn!!

Dave AND if they employ one of those taxi drivers they'll be back in jhb for dinner

How did the jocks get to Bloem in years gone by; I don't recall there were meetings abandoned because of a transport breakdown? Though I suppose the N1 to Bloem was in a better condition than the back road to Kimberley?

Will the RA investigate?

I think the press release from P will read something like this:

"It is unfortunate that the bus carrying XXX jockeys to Kimberley broke down this morning due to an undisclosed amount of "lucky numbers" being played on our comingled pools. The so called new players weighed so heavily on the tote that it sent a shiver down the bus drivers spine which in turn caused him to hit a pothole at 90 km's an hour.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused but please be assured we will conduct a full investigation into why the road was not tarred by the local municipality".

In all my years spent in this wonderful game I have NEVER heard of a bigger disgrace than this. How do you explain to the National gaming board, your investors and indeed the government that your business has lost out on approx. 2.5 million rands in revenue (conservative) due to a broken bus in Hoopstad!!!

Just put a sign up on the wall of the shop..got a few laughs!!!

I posted this on Sept 28th and sent a quote to Phumelela for consideration for a transport company.

On the subject of a bus, not sure why Phumelela don't have a bus?

Not sure of the cost of a bus? but if it costs say R13,000? per week to go to Kimberley 4 days a month R52,000 x 12 = R600,000 per year and thats only using the bus "once" a week.
I am aware you have a driver/petrol/maintenance.

If you consider night racing eg Pretoria/Joburg and other options Randjies/Joburg etc,

Would it not be an idea to have a Phumelela Fun Bus.

I am only guessing, but would think it would make financial business sense to own a bus rather than rent?

Just a thought.

Why is it when people make suggestions to Phumelela that they turn a blind eye and fail to respond..... Transparency does not exist with this lot!!!

Please be advised that the Flamingo Park racemeeting Scheduled for today Monday 04 January 2010 has been abandoned due to a breakdown of the bus transporting Jockeys and Officials.

A laughing stock , just shows what incompetance gets swept under the carpets by the enept bunch of clowns.
