This will always be a sore topic in racing. A couple of interesting facts comes to mind..Illegal bushracing.
according to my info the two NHA officials attend every meeting held in that district. They scanned the horses and were there for the remainder of the day.
My problem lies here, the horses were scanned. On a regular race day horses are checked , scanned ect to make sure the right horse is entered..Why did it take days to confirm that some of the horses found competing on the day was still under the NHA's rules.The nessesary data should have been available right there and then to stop them from competing until they were officially retired. Why was a photo used in Sporting Post of the river (illustrational purpose only) and not the real surface...why the wording raided (when they always attend)..

So if this amateur " bush racing " is legal and above board with two NHA officials attending every meeting with everybody knowing about it ,why all the controversy and secrecy ???

Yes and so it goes on so many why why why why comments. NHA sending officials to all these so called amateur Bush meetings. Really !!! And then what? The form of these are recorded for all to see? Reports on injuries and other transgressions published for all to see!! Really?? Pull the other one. It sucks and it's all covered up. Rather open it up for all to see and be done properly or ban it simple . The horse comes first !!! Really?? I better calm down or Ill get censored as well or banned or accused of making stupid comments. But so quite from all the loud noise earlier. Well done to Craig And Louis and a few others for level headed responses but bottom line this should not be happening. Of course just my opinion.

.....said some where here that the NHRA were bound to get some splash back as if what BIGNIC says is true....they are aiding and abetting the practice of pushing retired geriatric horses to participate.....so now we find out that there is an "official identification system in place.....but then how thick are these okes for sending horses to the events that are still registered at NHRA and have not had paper work updated...... sorry something still very clandestine on the motives to hold these "fun " events.....and if in some way is sanctioned by the NHRA .....we may as well close down racecourses and all go to the bush.....:S

Sorry for being so naive .;
So the problem is the paperwork or lack of it and nothing to do about cruelty to old retired race horses ?

SA Racing needs a newly constituted body that represents the owners and trainers once again.the RA is not that body.
issues like this , stakes , vet bills , NHRA , quality of tracks , race program etc can all be discussed and made to suit the Owners and trainers not the administrators and ticks that lurk around them.
