Kenilworth, WSB Fillies Guineas

I think Mujaafy in the 5th is the one they all have to beat. Hasn't beaten much to date, but was impressive in both starts.

Snowdance in the Guineas, couldn't have been more impressive last time out from a wide draw. If tucked in tomorrow from a decent draw, she should get the extra furlong and win this.

Legal Eagle, 6 from 6 over the distance, and 3 from 3 course and distance, speaks volumes. Very good come-back run when conceding 7.5kgs to the winner over a distance way too short. Well weighted, the one to be with.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

what a nice quality card.i take it racing will be on the new course with the long run in.
fillies guinneas looks like a 2 horse race between bass and snaith.i will go with bass runner.
greenpoint a 2 horse race with edict and gold standard.i don't see legal running in the the top 3.
i like the bass 3yr old dutch philip in the sprint feature, but im loading up in p6
i will go against mujaafy and side with marshall horse, valedictorian.
p 6 looks straight forward and i hope they run as i expect them to.

The Eagle can't but Snowdance can - a 3yo filly up in trip and against many unexposed 3yo fillies , i think all of 1-9 have every chance to win that race

Race 5 - Mujaafy 13/10

2 wins from 2 starts so far. He's barely been made to work in those - has some serious acceleration. Drop to the 1000 I'm not quite sure whether will suit him or not. He is pacey but could go either way but I'm counting on his class to shine. Speedpoint with that weight is a danger as he has run behind top sorts and Kasimir is a top horse in the making but I'm going with Mujaafy to further enhance his reputation.

Race 6 - Search Party 6/1, Dutch Phillip 8/1, Cuban Emerald 25/1

Thought Search Party's comeback was excellent. Clearly needed it a bit and must have come on a ton. 2 time Gr 2 winner if I'm not mistaken and the winner of this last year. Definitely a grade 1 sprinter as his performances behind Bull Valley have shown. Prefer him drawn on the inside today which should make it easier for him. He can go close here.

They tried Dutch Phillip over 7 furlong last time - probably not at his best over that trip even though he carried a whopping 60kgs. Now back to what he knows how to do best - sprinting - he should be a big danger here. A bit under sufferance but he is a very smart horse and off 52kgs, he should be there at the business end.

I've also had a small bet on Cuban Emerald. Really started to come good before he had a break, take a look at that burst to win his last race. Really smart performance and apparently has been aimed at this race. 25/1 is a great price for him.

Race 7, Cape Fillies Guineas - Snowdance 15/10, Lady in Black 12/1

I was so disappointed in Snowdance's 2nd run where if you can remember the Snaiths were so confident - she didn't display anything out of the ordinary then and I passed her by for the WCFC. After her astounding win there, I realised why they were so confident! Brilliant display of front running tactics and nothing came close. Yes it was on the short run and no she won't be given an easy lead this time but Bernard says there's no reason why she can't do it off them as well.

I don't see any problem with 1600m based on how she runs. She'll get it easily. She'll love the long run in being the big galloper she is and it could be time for Snowdance to join the greats that have won this.

Lady in Black is my saver. She was given no chance last time. kept basically 3 wide the whole way around. Should be much fitter now - Grade 1 winner over this distance - even though that form isn't quite working out, being a Dynasty, she should only improve as the season goes on. 12/1 is the usual price for horses the public forgets about after one bad run  then surprise, surprise when they pop up.

Silver Thursday, Magical Wonderland and Love Supreme are the others that could easily steal the show too.

Race 8 - Gold Standard 14/1

I like this horse a lot. Very lightly raced and he is a proper grade 1 horse. Ran a blinder in the met as a 3yo finishing fourth only beaten under 3 lengths. That showed he's right up to this class.

Now he's a mature 4yo and he would have strengthened properly and should be hitting his peak as a horse soon. 1600m-2000m is his game and he's versatile in that regard. The stable rate him very highly. We'll see today how good Gold Standard is.

Race 1: We need to have these WR races but a poor turnout here. Electro Cat and Rebels Burst have best form. W Bambiso must always be respected in these contests so Ira is also a contender.
Race 2: Straat Kind returns to Kenilworth where her form has been excellent but wont have it all her own way against some useful younger fillies. Lily Theresa is consistent and may be best at the weights. Best Kept Secret has not justified her price tag on the track but is a runner in this company. NannaAnna is decent but got a 2 kg penalty for her last win.
Race 3: The well bred Love Happens will relish the step up in trip and is the one to beat in a moderate field. Little between 3,4,5 and all three should be in the mix. The only 4yo is Psychic with no form to recommend him but one must assume he is has some ability to have made the trip to CT.
Race 4: Quite a few with chances- Believethisbeauty is overdue her maiden win and despite the draw should again be in the money.Tally-Ho finished in front of Love of my Life and Talitha Borealis last time and little between theses three. Star Evolution improved last time. One to watch is Cambridge Girl- moderate debut and may still need this run but very well bred and will love the step up in trip and cracks a neat draw.
Race 5: The stable had no luck on Thursday, but should win this with Mujaafy. If Valedictorian is back to best after his setback he is very talented. Speedpoint disappointed last time but on best form is well in at the weights. Kasimir has done nothing wrong and should earn a cheque.
Race 6: A nightmare for punters but a super line up with the improving 3 yo’s up against classy older horses.
Race 7: Elusive Heart was very disappointing last time and again gets a wide draw. She has been working well and I am sure that she will get the trip, but is a long shot here. Snow dance impressed last time but will find it tougher here- she must be respected but I will play to beat her. Magical Wonderland is not guaranteed to get the trip, but if she does is my selection. Lady in Black clearly needed her last run and will enjoy the trip and the longer run in, and I expect her to be in the firing line. Via Seattle ran a good race in Jhb and that form has been franked. At this time of year we can get dramatic improvement but anything else would be a surprise.
Race 8: Legal Eagle is deadly this course and distance and is a worthy favourite. We don’t know yet quite how good Gold Standard and Edict of Nantes are and if he is to be upset then I think it would be one of these two rather than the consistent older warriors.
Race 9: Tricky end to the day. Kotzen has a strong hand - Ostinato better form but Wings of Honour more scope for improvement and preferred. Samsara has consistent form.
