Candice Bass comments:
Sunblitz
Event: Race 1, Work Riders Maiden Plate
Distance: 1200m
Pre-race comments: He returns after a layoff, doing well and if he doesn’t need it too much he could be in the money.
Manetheran
Event: Race 3, Maiden Plate
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: Doing very well and with the longer straight now he should be very competitive.
Ballad Of The Sea
Event: Race 3, Maiden Plate
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: He will relish the turn and the longer run-in, but he is a very green type and should need the experience.
Love Of My Life
Event: Race 4, Maiden Plate (F & M)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: Another one that will really enjoy the extra straight as she takes a while to unwind. She should have a big chance this time.
Cambridge Girl
Event: Race 4, Maiden Plate (F & M)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: An encouraging sprint first time out. We are not sure if she will need another run before she will be competitive, but keep an eye on her.
Marinaresco
Event: Race 6, Cape Merchants (Grade 2)
Distance: 1200m
Pre-race comments: First run back up the straight in preparation for the Queen’s Plate. It’s obviously on the sharp side for him but he will be running on strongly!
Tevez
Event: Race 6, Cape Merchants (Grade 2)
Distance: 1200m
Pre-race comments: We are unsure what to expect as he is 8 years old now and not quite as consistent as he was.
Dutch Philip
Event: Race 6, Cape Merchants (Grade 2)
Distance: 1200m
Pre-race comments: Back to his best trip and doing very well at home. With bottom weight we are expecting a big run from him.
Magical Wonderland
Event: Race 7, Fillies Guineas (Grade 1)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: She has a good draw, is fit and well, but this mile will be at her limit. She is very capable though and if the race works out well for her we are hoping she can turn the form around.
Rings and Things
Event: Race 7, Fillies Guineas (Grade 1)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: She has been very consistent in open company. It will be a tough race for her but she deserves a crack here and we are hoping to get some small black type. She is exceptionally well.
Ontenderhooks
Event: Race 7, Fillies Guineas (Grade 1)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: Reserve
Our Mate Art
Event: Race 8, Green Point Stakes (Grade 2)
Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: His gallop at Kenilworth last week was particularly impressive. This is the strongest field to date he will take on and we will know soon enough where he fits in this league. You can’t discount his chances

Some lovely races, some thoughts:
In the 3rd, got to think that Love Happens (although short) should prove very hard to beat.
In the 5th, it does appear that Mujaafy is ahead of the handicapper and given the fact that the best weighted runner here according to official ratings, Speedpoint seems held by Kasimir on their last runs and Kasimir himself received 6 kgs last time from Al Mariachi (although beating him by nearly 3 lenghts) - so hopefully Mujaafy arrives at the start with all his shoes, then it should be nor race imo
I the Fillies Guineas, Snow Dance is obviously all the rage, for me just the fact that there is no line to compare her to Silver Thursday (and Via Seattle) makes both ST and VS big value here; I am not convinced that Magical Wonderland can come any closer to SD over the extra 200, so I am going with ST and VS to give the favorite a run from her money.
In the Green Point, Legal Eagle ticks all the boxes, but fro me there is still the worry of the Tarry stable (yes I don't need reminding that Liege won the Summer Cup - but one swallow does not a summer make), so Gold Standard looks invitingly priced - he did beat the other danger Edict of Nantes in the Selangor last year, but EoN has had more exposure since, so may provide plenty of cheek - the outcome will probably depend on which one is the more advanced in their preparations for the QP and the Met
Enjoy

Love Happens for me in the 3rd as well.
In the case of it being favourable results(hoping so), did these for a bit of loose change(hardly ever do multiples)
Love Happens x Mujaafy x Snowdance
and Love Happens x Mujaafy x Snowdance x Gold Standard/Edict of Nantes

Race 2: On exposed ability i was first drawn to Straat-Kind, does the horse have a huge advantage on form? - I do think that Best Kept Secret looks to need substantial improvement to beat straat kind - de Kock runners do however tend to show massive improvements suddenly, so it's possible. One of the younger fillies that is right up there with Straat-Kind is Trip To Ibiza, and but for the market support , I would have thought this the one to challenge straat-kind.

MANETHEREN - yet again tumbling odds on the tote. Love Happens - Carries the class indicator for the race, but hasn't been anything spectacular thus far.
