He likes running fresh over shorter distances, even though he is giving chuncks of weight away

Gone through the archives. The horse that I can up with is Global News as the last 3yo to win the Merchants which was in 1998. As a 3yo Global News ran third in the Guineas, fourth in the Cape Derby. The following year he won the Green Point and ironically this year's Green Point is today.
