Jockey Or Thug?

I cannot remember when last I saw a horse so remorselessly thrashed in a finish as happened to Al Sahem in the July.

I will be interested to see what (if anything!) the Stipes do about it.

If you can watch that head on and tell me that you regard that as an acceptable way in which to treat an animal then I despair.

Haven't seen the head on Garrick, but if its as you advocate then surely trainer owner should take action before any one else.

Aggressive ride, and I wouldn't want to be Al Sahem. However, I've seen jumping races abroad 5000m later where horses get punished more than this all the way to the line...

The fact remains there is a rule in place to address this but will they do anything about it? My guess is no and sadly they do nobody any favors. Wonder what the connections will say if anything. It certainly doesn't look good but hey what do we know.

The sooner they make all races hands and heels or restrict the whip to 3 uses in the final 2 furlongs the better. IMO the whip should be used as a show and not used to hit the horse.

Khumalo cost Al Sahem the win.Marinesco won down the inside where Al Sahem was placed.Khumalo decided to come to the middle of the course where the going was probably worse while The winner stayed inside.Khumalo tried everything to win but his decision to move off the inside probably cost him the July. That bad judgement cost him and a lot a punters some good money.
