I think to attack Michael Azzie on social media like that is unacceptable and distasteful. The FB post has now been removed, probably at the insistence of her husband. Abashiri has never been the same after winning a tough race in the third leg of the triple crown, he ran in the July at the insistence of the VV'S, the trainer did not want to run him there. To say that Azzie told the jock to run " waaay last " in the Queens Plate is totally absurd.

Agree with Mac very localized. None of the top Cape 3 year olds ran. The Cape 3 year olds were different class to those in JHB. I doubt Abashiri would have won a leg if they had taken him on.

It's a double-edged sword.

Van Vuuren invested plenty without much reward/recognition beside Abashiri.

How many purchases were advised by Azzie? Surely majority...

The underlying issues and thoughts that have been suppressed are now being brought to the fore.

Still feel they would still be in the game if they had been with Tarry or Woodruff.

What's the odds on:
1.) Abashiri moving to another trainer.
2.) Abashiri recapturing his earlier form at the new yard.
3.) Van Vuuren returning to lump more money into the new yard to spite Azzie.

I'd lay 6/10 on the above... :P :woohoo: B)
Richard Fourie is the greatest...

Because he beat horses by miles that competed in all the worlds best Grade1 races ( form)

Ps is the Cape Guineas not also part of the TT(Grade1)

I'd like to take the odds abashiri will be given away like all Vv other horses which he gave away just to get out of the game,I think he's paid his school fees for this subject.Once bitten twice shy.Sad ending what a pity for the industry thou !!!

With money you can do anything and there will always be people to "help" you. Things is you also need big match temperament to play at the big boy table. Money can get you there directly but then you miss out on experience of working your way there. Big match temperament is also know as class, and must include the "cl" or else you don't have much. Looking for loyalty and whatnot is just sad, and it's a joke if not earned. Never ever can a single person have said the way to play this game is buy 150 horses and then....

Maybe in a year or two, when all this shite has cooled down [it won't go away forever]
Van Vuuren might get back into this game stronger and wiser
