Very annoying commentary today. Why can he not call the race as he sees it and not just worry about where the favorites are.
Not talking from my pocket as I've being on the winners today

His commentating is reasonably good but he does go over the top on the fancied runners.
I think it's just to add excitement for the boys in the rooms and not in the nico ball sucking way .
I do know what you mean though his eyes glued to the jollys

The fact that they are favorites would suggest that most punters would like to hear were and how the horse is traveling, positioned etc especially those listening and not watching...
Give everything but up!

His last call today was very bad, how he never gave the winner much of a chance up the straight ?

Also noticed that because I was hoping to close a double with the winner, who in fact was in front for some distance, only the commentator could not see that
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Agree...I think you guys are being to harsh on him. He is great for racing. Has passion, passes on info. Met him a few times on course, always willing to chat and share. We need more youngsters like him.

First it was Dumpy then the bloke from Joburg now this guy. Maybe the race callers in SA should just call it a day. Then you would be stuffed unless one of you blokes have it in you to call a race. I tell you what. Next time you don't like a commentator hit the mute button, record the race whilst calling it yourself on your I phone or whatever. Then play it back and upload on you tube. After which have the balls to post it on ABC so that we can all hear how good a race caller you are. Deal? Good I look forward to your posting
When we view a race we are only watching the horse that we have backed. These blokes have to watch every horse, I for one can't call a race, maybe a 5 runner, but not much more than that. These callers try, in their own way, to make it more interesting and exciting for the viewer or the guy listening without pictures. Don't knock them if they mess up as they eat, crap and breathe like everybody else. In other words they are human and we are always making mistakes. Well how else would we learn

These commentators are all human, all unique and different, you won't find two the same.
At the end of the day they all need a job and try their best,or they won't have one
So,for Christ's sake leave them be,stop moaning about everything you can do nothing about!
If you think you can do better,CnC made the right suggestion
Put up or shut up

Not an easy job I battle to find the horse I have backed and that's only one runner and think Sheldon does a great job
