CnC, I hear you but what about Jaco Kriel who played by far the best rugger this past Super 15 where does he fit into this picture ? (as an example) He would be in my starting line up. Marcell, I know is injured at the moment but if fit you cant compare him to Kolisi. There are great players of colour that would get into the side on merit but to enforce a quota...... I dont think even the players appreciate being "quotarised"

totally agree neigh no player wants to be selected for his country because the coach was pressurised to select him even if its a buddy of the head of rugby. Unless you are a footballer in the UK who would turn their back on the club that taught and gave them everything for an extra £10k a week just to sit in the reserves of another club.

chicken n chips wrote: Neither do I but unfortunately SA fans are going into the world cup with the dream of winning it. The Boks could not even beat Argentina at home in conditions that they may well come up against in the world cup. Meyer in that game selected that young centre and put him on the wing in order to facilitate de Villiers. That failed and then he brought in a proper winger in the away match and he scored the try that secured the win.

Every player, no matter who he is, has to start somewhere and if he is performing well for his province and there is place in the national line up then he must play. At the moment far too many players past their sell by date are being selected by Meyer because he made them a promise that they would go to the world cup. I, like you, want SA to win the World Cup, but its not going to happen this year :(

Scotland threw away the match against France. Well they should have at least had a draw as they thought that they would be clever by going for a try in the last seconds instead of taking the easy kick at goal for the three points that would have ended the match on 19-19. They are going to do well in the World Cup and WILL beat SA. Remember I posted prior to the Championship that SA will not win a single match. The same confidence applies that Scotland will beat Meyers one dimensional tactic.

all the northern hemisphere countries have now completed their build up playing programme for the WC. The Southern Hemisphere sides have not played for 3 weeks and it will be 5 weeks since they have played when they kick off their respective world cups. Why even Japan played a warm up match yesterday. Either the rest would have done the Southern Hemisphere sides the world of good or they will be under cooked. Mind you they all open with a match that can be construed as a warm up match.
