I thought rugby was well in front of football when they started using the cameras..
Look how unlucky England were in the Football World Cup,if they had the technology and Frank Lampards goal against Germany was given,England would have more than likely gone on and won that tournament.
     England would have won the World Cup, :woohoo: you have just made my day
Thats my days fishing finished, thanks Chicken.

Other moving pictures from other angles were shown on the BBC this morning Bob and it clearly shows the ball coming off the Aussie player and Joubert had a clear few

Chook, the Aus player definitely touches the ball, but is it not Strauss momentum that moves the player and the ball ?

If the momentum of Strauss made it so that the Aussie player touched the ball then we would be questioning every single call in most matches. As you said in a previous post this WC needed a home country to get through as the interest of people who only watch the WC will now have gone. Not good for the game of rugby in the UK.

To me, there is no question the player who catches the ball is off-sides (penalty), now the question arises accidental or deliberate (grey area) ? To me, can he be expected to know that ball came off his own player....?? The safest option would be to have awarded a scrum to Aus. Craig J even hesitated and listened to the Ausies crying before blowing for the penalty.

Pity that such a great game of rugby will only be remembered by that penalty. I cannot wait for the Boks v AB match.

Going back to the Boks match I was really impressed with Burger and Vermeulen, a great combo. Du Preez led the side well making no rash decisions. The two locks are going to be awesome. JP Peterson marked North out of the game and Habana was here there and everywhere, one of his best games imo

CnC, Im very worried about our wings against NZ. They are outpaced by 50km/h and JP's defence at best is suspect. NZ wings are by far the best in the world.

In that case then I trust that Meyer has a solution to stop the ball getting out to the wings although their hooker Coles looks like he likes it out on the wing. It's uncanny how many times he has scored a try from out there. The Boks are going to beat them neigh of this there is no doubt. The problem will be the final against Australia

THE head of World Rugby Brett Gosper has suggested that controversial referee Craig Joubert “may have needed the bathroom” after he ran off the pitch following his decision to penalise Scotland in the dying seconds of yesterday’s dramatic Rugby World Cup quarter-final, which was edged 35-34 by Australia.
The incident which led to the penalty, subsequently kicked by Australia stand-off Bernard Foley, has caused debate but the South African referee’s actions in heading straight down the tunnel rather than stay on the Twickenham field to shake hands with the teams has attracted even more ire. Former Scotland captain Gavin Hastings described it as “the worst thing I have seen on a rugby field in a long time”.
