Matfield retired years ago and now he's somehow in the boks team, the whole front row were in their prime in 2006 and just aren't as strong and intimidating as they used to be, de Villiers shouldn't have even got a look in because he hasn't played rugby the whole year and I don't think he made a single pass to kriel the whole game. The same goes for du Toit and only the big man upstairs knows why HM decided to put a lock at flank yesterday. People can say we should blame the players but yesterday the Springboks didn't play badly we were just outclassed plain and simple, the guys put on the field just weren't good enough and that's down to HM.

For me most of the kudos goes not to Eddies Jones but to the Jap skipper

SA will be awarded the 2019 rugby World Cup after Japan pull out within the next 3 months citing the lack of suitable stadiums. This will happen, believe me

Meyer wanted to have his day in rugby immortality... To be remembered
He's got it now.. Will always be remembered as the coach that lost to Japan and put his ego before the country

He has arguably the best job in world rugby, coaching the Boks, but you would never know it judging by his team selection, timing of his subs and non existent plan B. Jeez I am really pissed off after seeing how easy Scotland have smashed Japan after Saturdays poor showing
Happy for Scotland at least something to shout about as the football team is pish.

I'm so happy to see Japan get a good hiding just in case anyway out there thought they would win anything this world cup expect against a hopeless Bok side, Saturday the boks will get embarrassed again by Samoa

I wonder if he will actually follow through with his threat if De Villiers and Matfield don't play to plan. I doubt if very much as I don't believe that he is strong enough to do that. Why do I say that, well just look at his squad selection. Yes he promised certain players that they would go to the WC but he should have pulled them aside and told them for the good of the team and country its best they stay at home. I mean De Villiers, who I think is a fantastic player, is finished, the same about thoughts about Matfield. The du Plessis brothers are at best good Super 15 players. JP has seen his best days as have Burger, Pienaar and Du Preez. Sometimes you have to disappoint a few to bring joy to a multitude. Meyer I am afraid has been his own worse enemy regarding squad selection for this WC and when he is old sitting on the patio beer in one hand and a boerewors in the other he will realise that he had a chance of becoming a legend in the eyes of all SA fans but he blew it.
