Bingo....and yes I am implying that like in any organisation there are those that are favoured and many that are not.....while waiting in the rather small reception area I witnessed 2 high profile members pick up ticket packages and thank the lady at reception and through the pleasantries and verbal exchanges it was made know who the parties were and what was in the packages....also casually listened in on a few telephone exchanges of people asking for such items by phone and being told that such items were not available....I then asked if this was common practice and the word "special" was mentioned.....one of the members receiving the tickets had a runner or 2 on that July day the other did not....::o

i have " proudly " in my bar , along with my winning photos ALL of my R.A. badges from 1990 - 2007. ( 18 years )
then I STOPPED - had a problem with entrance to the J & B MET, which i have attended for about 3 years .

R.A. facilities were not there.............. why be an R.A. member if R.A. cant secure at least 100 seats at one of the big events, JULY, MET etc, we are / were looked after at home - why not away.

from then I saw NO VALUE being an R.A. MEMBER ....without paying an arm &. 3 legs ! .... ANYONE CARE TO PROVE ME WRONG ?

Elvis that was your own personal choice ,which is respected but to call the R / a con men is wrong and we don't hear all the times they come to the aid of racing people in need of aid.

Actually Len I was in the RA offices in a job interview for the position of General Manager of the RA......a rather costly exercise though an executive personal agency..... I was told some days after the interview that there were no suitable candidates and that the job would not be filled but merged with another function.....the agency was never the less paid in full for their work....and no this is not sour grapes.:S...more like smelly herring....::o

I may at one time may have been able to influence people to enter the racing game or stay in the game....give them invaluable advice on buying horses, racing them ....which trainers to try out....and enthuse them with a passion for I grew up with.....I was all for Larry being voted as chairman and firmly believed that he could eventually make a difference.....the lack of total impartiality with the operator is the only way they operate....and it is hampering a drive to get people re)interested in racing. It is not the annual fee that deters members from joining the RA...... it is the outright attitude..... the very crux of this thread......::o

Savasp, we don't make our livelihood from training but have never and won't a&$@creep.

In fact as New Turf we gave up a multi million rand transport contract because we wouldn't do that.

However with you guys you arnt prepared to see any positives but are only here to see and make negatives. Where are all the positives from you and others?
Always negatives.....
