From the available evidence, I have to agree - but then I thought that one of their objectives was to 'grow ownership' (tu)

If you are an RA member you do get into "big"days like July, Summer Cup etc.without having to book an expensive meal etc. You just have to arrange it before as on those days there is much stricter gate control.

I have always found Larry to be a top guy and very very helpful...he works extremely hard for racing and I don't care if I am not popular for saying this. I enjoy him as a person and am happy that imo he always puts the RA members 1st.

Larry was given/voted in the position as Chairman and not general manager which was Clyde's salaried position.....at the time Chairman was not a salaried position.....subsequently a position of CEO was created and sanctioned by the board of the RA which Larry filled. This position is a highly salaried position.

One cannot say that the RA since Larry's tenure is at all independant from the operator when one see's the staff compliment at the RA as Clyde Basel's wife and Vee Moodley's wife are staffed at the RA offices.....:S

and I will tell you that is a fact - The ladies at the RA are some of the most pleasant hard working people in Racing - Merle is the kind of person that would not be out of place in any organization and the rest of the ladies go out of there way to help where they can

I am not implying that they are there doing nothing.......I am simply trying to imply that it is difficult to demonstate impartiality when there is such a working relationship ......as we all know that their spouse's are some of the bigger wigs at the big P........I was not quite sure that this was still the status quo......but thanks for confirming it.......(tu)

?.......no one is implying that the staff at the RA do not work hard......nor are they unpleasant........Mrs Moodley
Was rather pleasant and very helpful on my rare visit to the whitehouse ......also saw that then that RA was able to comp some of their members with tickets and packages for the July......I asked if this was common practice.......but I was told that is was not......only some "special" members were able to receive them........::o

Yip I'm not sure why this is even an issue - nobody said that the RA personnel are not doing their jobs; when I was a member I also found Merle and Penny very capable and friendly - but this is not the point :S

So you are saying some members are more special than others?
