Let me say I have plenty time for Larry and I did not review my RA membership for the first time in many years when they stopped considering ABC as a marketing tool for racing but rather a platform for negative inputs :(

Yip and this thread is not negative at all. We have non owners slating RA about owners rights and non members complaining about members issues....If I were Larry or the RA board, I would also stop advertising. That's logical to me.

i see people compare being the ra member to be member of golf club. what rubbish. the golf club member join a club that is all ready there and choose where they want to play. the horse owner bring the entertainment he pay for and the "club" get the benefit. louisg what happen when you have owner who is no the ra member and hes horse is run on the big day in the race where the ra do no host? you think is right he pay to go in the race course?

let me put these another way to golf club. easy for louis and rockspider to under stand >:D< is like the rugby stadium where you go and buy the season ticket for the bulls at loftus, you are the big suporter and you go for every game some times there is just a few people but you are the loyal supporter and you watch all the rubbish be cause you love the sport and your team. then the big game come the final. the boss by the rugby stadium tell you yes you have season ticket but sorry these mean only you can buy the ticket for plenty money. if you no like it we sell your seat to the many people we no see the rest of the year. some thing is wrong no??? is the same seat. is the same stadium. only the team you opose is diferent. will these guy come back for all the shit game next year? i no think so.

it seem some people have the blinker on. so if the owner escape the vets and pay 7k the month for hes horse and he pay to enter the horse in race and he no get the cent if horse run unplaced and the operator make money on every bet that punter take on hes horse, why should owner be treat like any other person who no contribute the cent to raceing? these is no the dificult question

As a member of a golf club you can only play at that club not any other . At "your"club you still pay per round that you play and anything extra like food and drink. membership at any club is more than R1000 per year.

As a seson ticket holder at a rugby stadium you get a seat, no guest, for maybe 14 games a season. Also you pay differing packages to include the "big" games. And that season ticket is not transferable to another stadium...

shams we can debate these for long time is many way you can look at these. ask one simple question please is no fight only good we discuss. do you think the owner of the horse in your yard should be treat exactly the same way as the member of public who come to races 1 or 2 time the year just for the "ocasion"?

feel for you Dave coz you provide the racegoers, which is the owner, trainer, officals, punters a live interactive platform to communicate on and also a VOICE and keep them in the know with 95% positive and sometimes negitive chats, but the negitive is debated and all parties can have an oppertunity to have their say so its constructive and educational ... RA ran an ad on Formgrids for a few months while Clyde was there years ago then one day i was told to take off the ad as the RA cant afford the R2500 pm anymore , soon afterward i was made an 2m offer for Formgrids by the board which i refused yet they never took another ad so seems to me the problem is we own our sites and they cant control us so we are not supported,,, both sites are good for racing any way you look at it and have contributed big time to the game and i wonder how much support the sites would have got from the game if a big name came up with them

Horse racing is the most expensive club to me that you get, you pay your members fees, you buy your horse or horses or small shear in a horse, add the phone calls to listen to comentreys, some times you can call up to six times before they tell you sorry there's a delay at the start, phone calls to your trainer to ask him anything from the stable, your friends you call, then racing every single day, play a pa, pick/six it goes on and on,7 days a week we feed the industry, please don't tell me its my choice to play or not, we all the same that play horses,we love to play something every day.so don't compare golf clubs, season tickets for sports.racing faking expensive to play or to be involved in,I know its our choice.
