I think it was purely the fact that he hadn't won a race in a long time that had him out of the Top 20 when you look at his runs places in Graded races. Even though he beat a weak field (I would include Wagner as weak) that win with the scratching above him should have propelled him comfortably into the Top 20.
Yes Greg at 7/1 3rd favorite if it came to a toss up between him and a 50/1 shot, I recon the panel would be fearful of the wrath of the punters. It looks a good sensible panel assembled and I feel Run For It is far more deserving of a run than the likes of Gothic.

Bob the people that don't want him to run are those that backed other horses and they know he won't lose.

the last time Run For it placed in a Gr1 was in 2011 in the Daily News, Gothic ran second in the SA Derby-Gr1 this year....the panel is gonna have a lot of fun.....

4th in the 2012 J&B Met 1,35 lengths behind Igugu.
Using Rock Cocktail as a line horse. He lost to Jet Explorer by 2,25L receiving 2kg's he then at level weights ran 1L behind Vercingetorix in the Daily News at level weight. In the July he carries the same weight as Jet Explorer and all the runner he ran within a length of has to give Jet Explorer weight. On this either Jet Explorer is very well weighted and should beat all the 3 year olds by a good 3 lengths. Jet Explorer ran above a 101 in the BW1900 but couldn't get more than a 6 pound penalty and IMO the best handicapped horse in the race. If the Snaith's say Run For It is better that must say volumes for Run For It.

Nothing ever has "no chance" in a July I guess but I personally couldn't back Run For It.
Won a maiden over 1200m @ 2 and since it turned 3 : has won 3 races........all at 1600m ???(never won over further)
1 a MR 79 beating Brown Penny
2 a feature in PE beating The Plunderer
3 an advanced plate at Greyville, handicapped a blinder
Will have to improve as much as they say he has, I would think,to have any chance !!
