RUN FOR IT - Must be a serious contender for the VDJ, good horse and gelded now. Watched the race yesterday afternoon at Greyville and I must say it was impressive how he quickened up and came home easily at 1/5 which we all expected.
I cannot make a strong winning case for his chances in the VDJ based on his credentials but he will surely have come on heaps and bounds and gathered much confidence from his run yesterday.
My personal conclusion (please don't slate me it's just a personal opinion) : Won't finish in the top 6

Run for it won't win, if stable really had confidence in him why isn't richard fourie taking the ride? Something to think about...

Don't think Fourie is riding in the race now

the guy has had his share of top jocks .... now if they had engaged Strydom then he'd have a chance

Sean Cormack is the stable jockey and has the choice of rides. :S
Looks like Delpech might ride Jet Explorer who The Snaith's mentioned that Fourie might ride.

Run For It, in 26th place and a borderline entry according to the last Vodacom Durban July log, has shortened into 8-1 third favourite with Betting World after winning a thinly contested Allowance Plate at Greyville on Friday. This will likely add pressure on the panellists that choose the field to include him in the country’s premier race and the big question now might be which horse could lose out at his expense.
The five-year-old Dynasty gelding has impressed in both of his Champions Season starts, finishing strongly from the back of the field for fourth in the Grade 2 Drill Hall over 1 400m and then sauntering home in the small Allowance Plate field over 1 600m. He beat another July entry, Wagner, easing up by five lengths on Friday night, although the latter was only using the race as a preparation run and had to give Run For It 3,5kg.
Nevertheless, Run For It, now that he has been gelded, appears to be ready to fulfil the exciting potential he has always possessed. He has finished close up-placed in four Grade 1s during his career, but his trainer Justin Snaith believes he can now put his bridesmaid reputation behind him.
Snaith made Run For It the horse to beat in the July after Friday’s win and added that he was more confident of victory than he had been before Dancer’s Daughter’s deat-heat win in 2008.

Run For It is ranked 26th and there are 5 horses ahead of him on the July log. The jockey and trainer are bullish of victory. It will be a travesty if Run For It does not make the final 20 for the VDJ. Waiting for the panelist final decision.
