People asking for tips aren't satisfied with the publicly available information, they want extra, they want more than the average betting Joe and they want this advantage for free too. They don't want stuff that's on the trainer's website or on Twitter, because anyone can access that.
What's more, if they've taken out a second mortgage and the trainer gets it wrong, said trainer is Satan for the next 20 years ... it's THEIR fault and racing is sjoe! corrupt!! It's not the punter's bad judgment, nor is it just one of those things like traffic jams or getting the flu, i.e. everyone gets it sometimes and no-one is out to get you. No, the trainer is either a poephol or a thief, and it's all their fault you did your tom.
But if the trainer was right, does the successful punter send the tip-giver so much as a six-pack at Christmas? Or buy a horse and send it to them?
Whether the trainer is right or wrong, he/she only stands to lose by the transaction.
As for the wellbeing of the horse ... that's why I seldom bet off course. The parade ring, the canter down and (if I can get it) a view of how the horse is behaving behind the starting stalls, will tell you a lot about it's health, fitness and state of mind. But I was forgetting ... hardly anyone bothers to go to the course anymore. The trainer must fill that gap, it's their duty forsooth.
Add to that the rudeness of some folks, the expectations, the I DEMAND!! attitude, and frankly, I wouldn't give such people the time of day.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Tips = huge disappointment
Do the work yourself or stop punting.
Here's a simple exercise for those on this site who deem themselves well connected in horse racing. If you get tips from very reliable sources, check how many have WON in the last 10 or 20 you were given - chances are it's less than 50%, and that's being generous on my part.
The flip side to this thread is that the author is insinuating that he/she has never given a loosing tip, hence the "what's in it for me", in which case you deserve renumeration for your work.
On the lighter side, if there is a Supreme Being, he/she has some serious competion from the author of this thread - time to hand over the reigns

either yes or no and reasons for it from then its your decision.......the reason i would like to know the wellbeing of the horse is to ensure we dont have repeats of the sun classique or singing river saga

Agh, Pirates, you're right I shouldn't generalise. Sorry 'bout that.
Still, I reeely do think people should go to the course! And see the horse for themselves, and compare it with the others in the parade ring. But 'pologies about being insulting. I am feeling a bit cross today generally.

The well-being of the horse is a very subjective opinion, invaribly from within the stable. Chances are Brett Crawford will tell you you couldn't have had Jackson fitter for the Met. What happened that it didn't run in the first 4, who knows, just one of those unexplainable things - it comes with the territory. Horse racing is a game of chance, not guarantees, irrespective of which trainer or jockey tells you otherwise, it is asinine behaviour to believe the latter.

Thanx Pirates but asking is rude......and do my own homework like I have always done......I don't really want to know as even with people close to the coalface they are more off the mark than on it.....this week got some graft from a snr jock that was an eye opener.......he tipped 3 horses 2 he did not ride but had mounts in
the races.....all horses ran a place and he in the races where he tipped others ran just behind the horses he had tipped.....:

OK its a free for all 'bar fight' ... nothing like a good pipecleanser...
@Heinrich. Yes 'punt in the dark' ... do you not get it or must explain it to you?
The large percentage of punters are illussionary dimwits which is why the trainers get so peeved being harassed by every Jim and his loud mouth with increasing volume as the losses pile up and the alcohol kicks in.
