My Fiance place betted Smanjemanje, it ran second. How she found that one I don't know. My win bet Jackson was very dissapointing.

On a line through Vettel, Jackson would have won by more than 2 lengths - 3yr od form also franked by Tribal Dance earlier - obviously something amiss
Still think Gorongosa will win the Gold Cup - will be too far for Solo Traveller imo.
Eton Square still improving - would love to see him taking on Jackson at level weights in the future.
Only thing I got right is that de Kock won't be in the first 4 - and I managed to pick the right horse (Chesalon) in our inter-family competition, showing that I know much more about racing than my wife and my 2 kids :

I hoped for the outside draw for Jackson I and got it. What I thought he would do was drop back at the start. Anyway........ glad for the Pomo clanners, van Niekerk, Striker, Tarry and for Gauteng... yahoo....

Cornell collar boet... made the difference. And as regards about Jackson and the Daily News, there were horses who had more runs and finished in front of him. The Australian commentator who was a guest on SABC3 summed it up before the race perfectly and he was proven correct. He said that Jackson's a big horse who spends a lot of time in the air while galloping and he will not enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big field, and if he takes a knock early on it will affect him more than a horse who gallops with short strides close to the ground. If you watch the replay you will see Jackson take quite a knock after about 700m's ... was never in the race after that.

For me there was only 1 horse to take out of yesterdays racing
Rumya
her time was faster than war horse and her passage/race was tougher, she fought for her head and ran in fits and spurts.
a certainty to go to the top
