The explanation is quite simple RG your source took a flier and it came right...but in the long run I know who I would rather be with..

"A fair chance of winning" doesn't exactly sound like a 50/50 chance of winning - which is precisely what even molney means. And I have also been tipped "good things" that I knew for a fact were not strongly fancied.

Lets explain for the moronic:
Horses tend to work at pace over +- 400 metres and often not on grass.
You will understand then that it takes a fair bit of guesswork as to how that will convert to 2000m on grass, against horses you don't even train........especially when the one run to date was pretty average.
On that basis Ravin(and a few others), I would suggest either a new passtime or taking the time to understand racing better.......and that is more listening and less mouthing off.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing ,but based on the rating of the first run,and even allowing for NORMAL improvement, the value threshold was +- 33/10 so Woody's comments about the price,pre-race, were reasonable

RF, brave or stupid. Just try help and thats the way it should be taken. Most trainers are quite happy to do the same but when you get some of the snide, stupid comments seen on ABC by some people who dont have a clue it actually makes you think twice about doing it. Will keep posting as the majority I think appreciate it and wont let the small minded minority spoil it for the rest.

Trainers are very brave for posting on these boards as the moronic few will always think that every time you say a horse "should run well", it means it WILL win and they should put their life savings on the bloody animal.
....Hence when the horse runs an excellent 4th, coming from way back and getting interfered with, the trainers invariably get called every name under the sun.
Not a game for sissies training, punting, owning....not even blogging or posting on a webpage ti seems!
Thanks to the trainers that do post their comments but know I for one surely don't expect you to.....it is a thankless job at very best!

Let's remember we are betting on animals who unfortunately aren't able tell us how they are doing and are also reliant on jockeys, some stupid and some clever, to position and steer them home. I believe all one should listen to is when the trainer tells us is how horse xyz is working and how fit the anmal is. When a trainer starts talking about where they think the horse will run or odds etc it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Analysing the form, conditions and pace yourself is far more important than following some biased opinion who for all we know doesn't have the foggiest idea how to form an opinion, read a race or assess value. Rather follow the advise of pro tipsters like magic!
Anyway the form book is there for all to see, obviously we are reliant on info about 1st timers or horse coming back from a break but in the long run you are better off making your own judgements and not get carried away with trainers views. Its a tough game to call and horses will make fools of humans on a daily basis, trainers are no exception to this.

I also missed out on PA by banking the 1(r3).
GW did say pre race(TT),that the horse didnt have a winning chance, but the post race cleared everything up.
He said after the 1st run, owner wanted him to send the horse to P.E,but he felt was still 'dumb' and will improve.
well done to GW on sat.Now Pls save our Souls on tuesday with the Master.
