Are you sure about that? I'll bet there's more than a few trainers who would beg to differ.

iam an owner...its expensive and requires plenty of patience

its also not profitable for most...if you wanna go into ownership get involved in a syndicate...the more members the better me thinks

This is the best route.
Just have small %ages of say 10%or 20% per horse max.

I had been an owner for 14 years.
I was and am not in the higher income group. But I had and still have an exceptional love for the racehorse. The problem not having unlimited funds is that I couldn't send my horses to top trainers. The other problem was, and is, the vet fees. Vet fees set me back more than the training fees per month.

If you have enough money, I would say go for it. But if you are on my level, don't even try it!! Then I would say get yourself a 10% share in a horse. You'll enjoy it just as much.

Another thing, trainers, when they find out you are not rolling in the mulahs, tend to disrespect you. Even though you pay the same amount as your super rich fellow owner.

This was MY deduction, after 14 years in the game. I also bred 3 babies, 1 international, Mauritian lol. I found the breeders a more pleasant group of people to deal with.

Many ardent racing fans would like to own a share of a racehorse but can't afford the initial outlay. Two oceans racing are trying to help by allowing racing shares ( pay towards keep ) on a monthly basis. Believe it or not we are struggling to get new blood into the syndication idea of six horses . No extra fees at all . Of the six horses we initially earmarked four have raced and shown fair ability.
These include Beulah( placed ) and Miss K ( a winner now ). Katrushka has been dissappointing but shows good work and Holdontiger will win. The other two listed have shown nothing and have been retired ( First Deputy and Lillyslaptsilly). Thanks to the trainers for advising that it is best to stop with them before it becomes expensive.
The two will be replaced within the month. The idea is to be there for the 10% owner who can only contribute towards keep and also prevents that long wait having to wait for them to get to the track. We need new owners entering the game and this is an attempt to do so.
If you are interested then go onto the website . This is all non-profit based as you can read in the mission statement.

Flash Harry what are you smoking? In Dbn we mow it we dont smoke it. You could make a lot of money selling the stuff you smoking because it must be stronger than heroin by a division.
