Where the whole Azzman thing got me before before Summer Cup day was the slap in the face one of our best sprinters in the past decade took by his arogance. You never see Mike De Kock saying Igugu would demolish Ipi Tombe or the like for any of his top horses against past horses.

The bigget risk to trainers in racing must be convincing patrons to buy an expensive flop. (I still think that PP will win the derby in JHB ) Trainer has said that for a long time now.

I would think that the horse must have ability (Azzie is not a palooka)..............just not as much as he would hope for..................he is not immune to overrating a few!

mr azzie had harrys charm,national currency and a few others that were very good.imo potala palace will be a champ in jhb.
hope he runs pp in cape derby.many a top horse has won cape derby and even those who run places has gone on to win july.
in last 10 yrs eyeofthetiger(3rd in derby)won july,dynasty(1st in derby)won july,big city life(1st in derby)won july.
in summary mr azzie is a good,honest trainer and if he thinks pp is a champ then i will believe him.i do hope he runs well in cape derby to vindicate mr azzies confidence in him.

it's not the trainer's fault if punters follow their words blindly - i learn't that 20 odd years ago - do your homework first before you punt - the biggest wins i've ever had were based around my assessment of a race and not my trainer

Bookiebuster I do not think you can call PP a piece of shit! This horse has won a G1 and when Azzie tells you he rates a horse, better take note. Yes, Azzie can talk up his horses from time to time but he had Dubai plans for this horse before it even saw the track.

Seems to have plenty of pace had the whole field of the bridle when he ran away from them,not sure he is needing the trip his trainer feels he does.Might have been a different outcome if he had been held onto for another 200m ?
