Ditto. I like the Azzman's passion. I will follow him into battle any day....

Top horses win from 1200m to 2450m this horse must have been 50% fit for that poor run or he is half the horse we think he is - gelding?

You only have to look at Beacon Flares form before and since his second to
Potala Palace to know that he is very overrated. Beacon Flare gave a big clue when he ran a well beaten second the other that PP would find it difficult win later in the day.

If Potala palace needs 2450m to win a race then he is not the horse he is hyped to be........ every true champion's class comes through at all sorts of distances........
Elevation and In Full Flight won 1000m feature races 1 run before their goals....... the Holiday Inns and the July respectively.
Anyone who thinks that a horse that is so poor (apparently) over a mile, is a champion, is going to pay for the experience IMO.
The list is endless of top horses winning races at less than optimum distances.

Ingleside , Teal , Illuastrador , Empress club , National emblem afew that spring to mind .

I do hope Potala palace fulfils some sort of expectation . The money spent is astronomical and Azzie has taken a huge chance.

Perhaps he will be a lot better on dirt or polytrack .It would be a good alternative if he flops any further on turf .

Maybe it's time to bring on the Clash Of The Titans : Potala Palace vs Perana.

i sure hope that the horse wins its fair share of races and proves to all that he is a class act.mr azzie gave his opinion that he thinks the horse is a champ,so after a poor run in the dingaans(imo the horse got a shocking ride by jock) and a 3rd everyone says the horse is over hyped and mr azzie is wrong in his assesment of the horses ability.im no trainer and im sure most of the posters r not, so how can u guys say the horse is hopeless.im not even gonna try an offer excuses but im confident that the horse will justify mr azzies confidence in him.give them time and dont always hope for the worst.jhb racing needs all the champs they can get if they hope to compete with cape boys in natal season.mr azzie is honest and good for the game and i hope potala turns out to be a champ.
