Overrated horse by trainer

all i can say, what an ass azzie made off him self, every 1 now his comments were going to bit him in the ass,i think he has lost his mind, even if his horse wins again it will only be a average horse to me.i really think he should apologise to the public ,there are thousands that beleaved him that this was a champion and backed it every time it ran, only to see it needed a snorkel 1/2 way up the straight to breath, at the end of the day we as punters only need to now if the horse is well and working to the trainers liking, the rest is up to us what we must do,well let me go and sit and watch tv in my potato palace now.

M Azzie did put himself in a difficult position by saying Potala Palace is a champion even before the horse proved itself (that was before Summer Cup Race Day and on national television).

Hibernia, how many trips does he need :S

A champion horse doesn't need to much to prove its worth.

IMO Azzman will be proved right with his assessment, his passion for his horses I find admirable as well as the fact that he speaks from his heart...

Savas I agree that when we hear a trainer speak so confidently about his horse we tend to have a bigger bet than the norm....but when Mike A makes these statements he really believes what he is saying and trust me he must have been a lot more gutted than us with the result....PP will bounce back...

unfortunately i think that pp is overated, but was there any comments on the stipes report with regard to pp. Didnt run any sort of race. Shame because we need champions in this industry...but i think the azzman may have just overhyped the horse. At least it will be a good price for the highveld classics...can the horse boune back?

I think Mike Azzie treats his horses like they all his kids, and he is not trying to mislead, but he often overrates his horses like parents overrate their kids......If you have ever had anything to do with ,say, under 10 soccer sides you will know ,that if you listen to the dads, you have at least a dozen "best centre forwards" in town.
With Azzie, you have to pay more attention to the form.

Has the Derby been run yet? I seem to recall him saying "Bring on the Derby!" Is the Derby distance not 2400m or thereabout???

I can already here the winning interview "...and to all those who said he was useless and finished...."

M Azzie did say on national television in the week leading up to Summer Cup Race Day that Potala Palace is a champion and will win. He also added, if it doesn't win on that day it will win soon.

It didn't win on Summer Cup Race Day and his follow-up race it ran 3rd!

M Azzie is not making himself any more popular if he continues making such statements in national media.

For the shake of SA Horse Racing, I will love for Potala Palace to bounce back and start winning but it won't have my money on it.
