Hand the whole thing over to a private entity - its the only way.
Then we will get professionals - not mates and buddies.

Neil Pretorious would never make it in a broadcasting environment - he is too bloody conceited - he tips friends horses and his own - a joke and he doesn't have a great voice.

Shaheen Shaw is the only man who an outside broadcaster would employ - smooth, witty , informed and intense - a bit of colour and a straight shooter.

Poor Mark N - was just trying to help.

PRIVATISE TODAY!!!!

Shaheen is the only professionally trained presenter on TT (although I think Molley might be as well or else he has just done it for a long time). He spent many years at SuperSport for those of you that don't remember. you can't blame the others for not having the same smoothness as him as they simply don't have the training.

If the person who is training another only has 25% of the knowledge, at best he can only pass on 5%. Therefore the standard keeps dropping as less and less knowledge is been passed on. Eventually it becomes "NO! It's easy! You just stand in front of the camera and talk about what you know!" It's a common problem in all walks of life.

Unfortunately professional training costs big money and TT simply does not have that kind of money. I don't want to get into why they don't coz I simply don't know. The same is true for using one of SS channels on big race days...It's big money, I'm sure that if the channel is free and the sponsors want to pay the extra then it would be available, but someone has to pay.

Television may look easy to us plebs, but I'm positive that standing in front of the camera or indeed even holding a camera is a proffessional skill that is learned. Like all good things it takes time. Why do you think SA Jockeys are considered some of the greats in the world? It's because we gave them a 5 year apprenticeship with guidence, not just put them on a horse and sent them to ride in the July.

To all the people that want to critize, we have now lost a good tipster in Mark Neisius, he would have probably grown into being a great on course presenter given the time.
