Challenge to Hollywood Betway..WSB and all other Bookmakers

Stop the open bet on the Pick 6 on three days...July, Met and Summer Cup...put all Pick 6 through the tote...work out a deal with the Tote for a commission...Imagine how much buzz you would get with a 30 bar plus pool on those days.... you won't lose customers to the tote because the rest of the year punters will go back to the open bet...put racing first...talk to the tote and create a super pool that non racing folk will buy into just as they buy into the July Sweep in their offices...give it a try...and the Tote bend over and accommodate the bookies on those days and give them a percentage to save racing.

I.m.o I don't think there is an easy way to resolve this problem with the open bet offered by bookies. The tote started these soccer bets which can be argued by bookies that it was their product. The tote is taking in millions in the soccer bets so I don't think the books are going to back off the open bet ,very difficult one and the horse racing product suffers with very mediocre pools and ultimately the punter starts to look elsewhere .

The operators carry the cost of putting on horse racing...via the take-out...
The bookies do not have a product of their own that they put up...

Nice idea,  but lets not forget how much the bookies have pumped back into racing on recent years.
I'm all for the greater good of racing, but key question remains: Why do punters prefer to take the open bet with bookies ?

I'm not debating the open bet...that's been beaten to death....my point really is to create a betting buzz on the 3 big punting days....I punt almost every local meeting but perhaps 4 or 5 times a year I take part in the P6 ...if the pool was massive I would join for those days....why people prefer the books to the tote is subjective...I use Hollywood because of the service I get and convienence....will I ever reopen my tote account...not likely....but on the big days if the only way to join the P6 pool was through the tote portal on Hollywood then I would do so without any problem....as a punter I know exotics like the P6 as the basis of your betting plan will lead to the poor house....straight bets and limited multiples can show a profit in the long run but on a big day it is very satisfying to join mates in a group P6....

Many no longer trust the tote. Service issues, poor pools
One can also have fractional bets on swingers, exacta and play less than 1% on P6 JP and other such exotics.....why....say I don't want to take a swinger box with a 66/1 shot fully but take 50% or be forced to take bet min 3 times in Hong Kong or 6 times in Malaysia....huh

If the tote pic 6 pool is one million and there are ten winners each winner gets R100K each.
On the open bet each of the ten winners get 1 Bar each.So in a way the books are exposed to liability.Thats my understanding anyway.

That is not correct. You are paid what is declared as the dividend on the tote!

as stated above the bookie would pay 100k. If you have the p6 once and it pays 1 bar but on the tote someome only gets 20% you get 200k
