Yesterday Turffontein inside track patches were sprayed with green paint to make course look good. Did this cause the fall?
Vaal track in worse condition!

Yesterday Turffontein inside track patches were sprayed with green paint to make course look good. Did this cause the fall?
Vaal track in worse condition!
a) En route to the start, MAMAQUERA (P Mxoli) cast its left front shoe which was attended to by the Course Farrier.
b) In the concluding stages, MAMAQUERA was checked severely, dislodging Jockey P Mxoli and subsequently broke down. An inquiry will be opened into this incident.
Jockey P Mxoli was attended to by the Course Medical Staff on track and was transferred to the Medical Centre for further examination. Rule 25.12 was not applied, however, Jockey P Mxoli is to be examined by the Course Medical Doctor before engaging in his first ride on Saturday, 4 November 2023.
c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with PATON'S TEARS in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
d) Trainer S J Gray was issued with an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate ROSE TINTED against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar.
Trainer S J Gray signed the Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed.
e) QUANTUM (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Stable Employee B Mgeni, acting on behalf of Trainer A G Laird, was advised (MduP).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) ROCK ON CAPTAIN: Jockey Wes Marwing weighed out at 54,4kg, 2kg over the carded weight as declared.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) TRENTINO raced equipped with blinkers (declared 2 November 2023 at 07H09).
b) ROCK ON CAPTAIN raced without blinkers and pacifiers (declared 2 November 2023 at 08H39).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) PATON'S TEARS not striding out right hind.
b) COUNT YOUR CHANCES blowing post race.
c) MAMAQUERA broke down left front.Humanely euthanased. Specimens collected for analysis.
